This is technically a necropost but for anyone wanting to use it, here's my experience with it.
I finished my entire playthrough with this mod enabled, whilst it was very useful at times (in the sense that I could see significant improvements with some animations), there were multiple issues that made any time saved null and void.
Most noticeably, any fights involving Avatars were incredibly sluggish. I'm assuming there was an input error when their animation speed was adjusted as any movements they made seemed to be in slow motion, to the point where the game freaked out and skipped right to the end of their animation (Avatar tries teleporting, it moves incredibly slowly, and then its in a whole different location with no indication of the teleportation actually having happened).
There was another instance within the same fight where the avatar was seemingly in one location (I used a melee attack and rather than my character going to where the avatar visibly was, my character ran halfway across the map to punch air, and it registered as a hit (I don't know if this particular issue was caused by the mod, but after disabling it, I had no more issues with these animations).
The game also seems to dislike the mod in general as there were many times where a character's animation had finished, yet the game was still processing it as if the animation was in progress. At that point, its better to have the mod disabled so you're not staring at an empty map tile whilst the game catches up.
Don't get me wrong, this mod was very useful at times, and whilst I personally wouldn't use it again, I think it'd be best for you to try it out and see whether you find it helpful.
FYI for people who need an update to the mod for War of the Chosen.
Apparently, this mod cannot be updated in a simple fashion here. An updated mod for WotC was created by Raja and it is available in Steam Workshop. You can easily get it there. Works like a charm.
You cannot download a mod from steam if you do not own the game. Steam will ask you to log in, and if you log in with an account that doesn't own the game, you will get an error while trying to download mods. Valve didn't feel like offering free service to pirates. It's hard to blame them for that.
If you know a way to actually download mods without owning a game, I'm all ears. I would love a workaround for my GOG Witcher 3. Nexus mods tend to be outdated...
@Rokoka > Go to the steam workshop, download the mod, find it in "Steam\steamapps\workshop\content" and in one of the numbered folders you'll find the mod. I feel stupid even asking that, but how do you do that? What buttons do you press in steam interface? Do you need steam client or you can do that on steam web-site?
ppl who want to download steamworkshop mods just past ethe mod url from steam to here and you will download the mod http://steamworkshop.download/download/view/620600092
Bro genuine question are u really this idiotic? "https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/xcom-2" and "https://www.gog.com/en/game/xcom_2". Like dude one damn google search was enough. Dont talk people down like u are morally better when u are actually wrong. You now look like a clown, which u are of course. Also, I will assume from ur lame attitude that u are privliged to live with the luxuries of not being underpaid in a third world country where games are absurdly expensive (or you know being a bloody kid with parents underpaid that are in debted for 3 years to buy your computer), because sorry but not everyone in the world can afford the hundred of games AND the even more absurdly prices for PC in most of these countries. I buy every game I think the company deserves the money btw and xcom games do not, buggy all the time and poorly made, the concept is fun but they simply dont serve my money I prefer to buy baldurs gate 3 and a pc that can runs it. Next time make a google search buddy :)
And it doesnt matter at all if u have to anyway connect steam account like EA often do (of course they do) because ur comment says explicitly that there ARENT any other way to get the game, and you use that INCORRECT fact to try to be snark and morally superior only to look like I said, a Clown. Congratulations
@Gryzley2 At the time I wrote that comment, this game was only available on Steam. It wasn't released on other PC stores until several years later. "One damn google search" would have told you that.
GJ ignoring the bulk of his comment and his main argument and posturing as if you got him. All that moral high horsing but can't bring himself to apologise for shaming 3rd world kids with no money.
for any contemporary players that want this for non-steam wotc, here's the version that works (downloaded from the steam workshop, uploaded by the mod author, this isnt mine). shame the author didn't update this one
Kindly upload it as single zip file. It's basically impossible to download.
Edit: I managed to download the files one by one and re-creating the folder structure manually. Here is 1 zip mirror so you can save yourself 10 minutes without buying the premium:
Hi, could you please help me to override a function in UIPanel? I tried everything but nothing works. I want to remove AnimateIn (reduce) globally so I need to edit this function in UIPanel:
Also I'm looking for a way to change these lines in UIUtilities, looks like the way too because there are such parameters in AnimateIn so I need to reduce them to 0.01 and that should be enough^
I'm not sure this mod works for the EpicGamesStore version. Might be placebo effect or something but i really don't feel a difference. (edit) Found reason, i didnt know you had to activate mods in the launcher (not very clear anywhere that you need to do that), but another problem occurred when i did that, the game crashes on launch.
So, this mod activated, causes XCOM2 to crash on launch.
It's a touchy game anyhow, with all the DLC.. Rigs are probably also a consideration. I had to delete some content to get it working a little better, but still a few ctds a week..
I really like the removal of the pauses, but that's all I really wanted out of the mod. There a chance you would tell me what I need to edit/delete in order to retain Bradford's voiceover and the Cinematic Scenes?
There is no way without unsubscribing. Though note, this mod does not remove all of Bradford's voiceovers, only the unskippable ones that get repeated nearly every mission, saying "There's only 6/3/1 turns left!". Also no cinematic scenes are removed.
Sorry to necro, but as a warning, yes, one of the "One and done" tech development in-engine cutscenes (initial training of a psionic soldier IIRC) that had a Bradford voiceover WAS indeed interrupted and it prematurely ended the entire 'scene', so I never got to even see what it said. This happened on my first play of the game after installing this mod, so it seems highly likely that it was this mod since this didn't occur before or since, and most of my other mods are cosmetic and the soldier was a base human.
Also, I forgot what config files to delete to get the game to stop bugging you with the "MOD NOT INSTALLED" warning every time you load a save after disabling a mod, so, just throwing that out there since it's relevant in case someone wants to add that.
The Steam Workshop version of this file seems to be different. Which one shoud i use? (i am not even sure which one is the latest, because Steam doesn't show the whole date - it says it was uploaded on 30 Aug, but what year????)

Go to the steam workshop, download the mod, find it in "Steam\steamapps\workshop\content" and in one of the numbered folders you'll find the mod.
Zip it up, rename it to the mods name. Then from the nexus mod manager, do add mod via file and done.

it does not work and it ends up on "Probably requires login with an account that owns the game."
Obviously not true: https://www.gog.com/en/game/xcom_2_war_of_the_chosen

Now look at when XCOM 2 came out on GOG.
Sounds like you need to ask yourself your genuine question.

really appreciate it - could you please upload it as a ZIP? I'd need to be a premium member to bulk download.

Btw I couldn't make it work. I copied the folder StopWastingMyTime to:
XCom2-WarOfTheChosen\XComGame\Mods\
as well as to \XComGame\Mods\
If anybody has any tips how to make it work I would appreciate it.
simulated function AnimateIn(optional float Delay = -1.0)
{
if( Delay == -1.0 && ParentPanel != none)
Delay = ParentPanel.GetChildIndex(self) * class'UIUtilities'.const.INTRO_ANIMATION_DELAY_PER_INDEX;
AddTweenBetween("_alpha", 0, Alpha, class'UIUtilities'.const.INTRO_ANIMATION_TIME, Delay);
}
Also I'm looking for a way to change these lines in UIUtilities, looks like the way too because there are such parameters in AnimateIn so I need to reduce them to 0.01 and that should be enough^
const INTRO_ANIMATION_DELAY_PER_INDEX = 0.05;
const INTRO_ANIMATION_TIME = 0.2;
Might be placebo effect or something but i really don't feel a difference.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
I had to delete some content to get it working a little better, but still a few ctds a week..
I like my animations and a few other things I see were cut,
but yeah, I do get a sense of the game being 'constipated' at times.. LOL
