For anyone who wants to use this great mod for War of the Chosen, the post by Xziero below is incomplete. He is correct that you must copy the mod archive into that folder, but you also must install Reshade itself into the same folder. In other words, installing this mod must be completely replicated for XCOM 2 and War of the Chosen.
I did copy the archive to the WotC folder however I don't believe that it is working. It works fine in XCOM 2 (I am using the cinematic version). I use the Alternate Mod Launcher, if that matters. Under XCOM 2, SHIFT+F2 works to bring up the configuration menu, and I believe that the F12 toggle in-game works too. After I launch WotC in this way, SHIFT+F2 doesn't do anything and I can't detect if F12 is working or not. Are you sure that I don't need to install Reshade also to the WotC folder?
For everyone who is not seeing any effects while using the "Real Vision Reshade ini-pack" make sure to click YES when ReShade 3.X asks You if it should download "a collection of standard effects".
Just a minor thing but maybe dimasnik wants to add this thing to the install info.
I fixed the issue, I had to rename the DLL and INI file to d3d11 instead of whatever it was. Now it works, looking good. You might want to include that somewhere as I'm probably not the only one to have this issue.
Sorry for late response. If I understood your question correctly you just need copy archive files and paste them into the folder where your xcom2.exe located <<....>>\XCOM 2\Binaries\Win64, and confirm the replacement of files.
Installed newest version of Reshade 3. and copied the real vision (only for 3.0 version) over and my game crashes whenever I launch it from the launcher. Any idea? It's not a CTD it has an error that asks me to upload crash report. I also turned off mods incase that was the issue but it still persists
I have the same issue as Shizof. The thing is, I recently upgraded and completely rebuilt my system, after reinstalling xcom2 and applying reshade and your preset I am nomore able to access the reshade menu via Shift+F2, it's strange, because when I copied over my old files I was able to access the system at first, then after deinstalling reshade and reinstalling it + your preset I was unable to do so... I'm at a loss here... After that I've numerous times tried to reinstal reshade, even went through the trouble of redownloading the entire game... It displays the message on the top that everything was successful, strangely though the amount of messages appearing on top are more than it were before, it also shows "reshade 1.1.x". I definitely installed Reshade 3.0 though.
UPDATE: I have refrained from using your Main file downloads and now I can actually access the menu. Definitely something about your mainfiles, one explanation would be the thing causing problems for a lot of people, which is fixed by your "troubleshooting" setting, which is renaming the dll file to dxgi (at least that would be the only different thing, outside of using your preset files).
It also correctly shows Reshade to be version 3.0.x, and not 1.0.x anymore, maybe your mainfile uses RS1.0?
No needing to apply main file if you want to use ini-pack version Main file is based on ReShade 1.1.0, but you need ReShade 3.0.7 It is DIFFERENT sofware from same creator but that perform a resembling actions. And of course any file designed only for one ReShade version will not work with another ReShade version, they just incompatible.
All of this indicated in files descriptions with poisoned green
And all that you need to do it's just read it carefully
How the download files are worded was rather misleading to me. There was the "main file" and then "updates", implying you use the main file and customize the reshade further by using additional files from the "upgrade" section, that clears that up (at least that's how I understood it at first).
Got a question though, I use Reshade 3.0.7 and also your ini-pack, but when I start the game it shows several error messages, am I missing a file, or is this working as intended? At least it doesn't produce any crashes and got it look to my taste after some additional customization, but the error messages imply there could be resulting FPS drops.
SHIFT+F2 is standard overlay key; so if the F12 (the key set by me to turn effects ON/OFF) works for you it means that ReShade was installed and launched correctly.
Do you understand that if you can use this software with hot key F12 (or any other) from user and in the same time having no opportunity to use standard overlay key from creator of this software it sounds slightly ... strange ? In addition it is IMPOSSIBLE
Try to reinstall ReShade and repeat all steps ( delete all ReShade files installed before)
Edit: any warning yellow or red lines in pop-up message when ReShade launch from start of the game?

Never mind. I have found a solution. Download from Updated files ini-pack for Reshade v3.0++ and copy to engine folder.
When will this be compatible with the War of the chosen expansion ?
Many thanks,
And more importantly, what sort of performance cost will I pay? It looks good.

Thanks for this mod! Take Care!

In any case, thanks making these.
