Im not sure what you did, but this made my game run SO much faster and look SO much better. On top of all the graphical increases my frame rate has taken a sharp increase. THANKS!

I uploaded Sweetfx and this file to both the EU and EW folders.
For people experiencing crashes, did you only crash once and not try to load to program again?

Most of the time, if you edit any files or add to them in the games folders, the next time you start the game it will crash, but any time after that should be fine.

In EW did not work, I got into the folder

C: Program Files (x86) Steam SteamApps common XCom-Enemy-Unknown XEW Binaries Win32

and unlike the original did not work

PD: I played more and saw that on some maps it shows more than others, but also function works

Is this compatible with EW? I noticed it was updated much more recently than other graphics mods.

You might want to look over the new 'Modifying Textures - XCOM:EU 2012' wiki article.  Hopefully it will show how to get TexMod to work correctly depending upon your XCOM setup.  (From what I have seen, you can install TexMod anywhere.  You just have to setup whatever shortcuts you use to launch it for the game, and tell TexMod what EXE to use to actually launch the game.)  Than I would try the SweetFX setup.  In this type of situation, it's best to treat it like constructing a building: first you have to get the foundation in, then the wall, then the roof, then siding, interior walls, etc.  One step at a time.

I've used this 'mod' for a while now. i just want to say how i think it makes the game look great.
I have a good contrast ratio on my monitor and so i dont see that it makes the game too dark at all.

Between the removal of the 'fog' and the resharpening, i think it makes XCOM feel more gritty.
This is one of my top mod picks, ive downloaded it 3-4 installs now.

It makes the game way too dark for my personal taste. But the basic concept is great, I guess I will fiddle around with the settings to find something that suits me, especially the resharpened textures look great.

I'm now trying to cook up my own SweetFX_settings.txt and have used your ToneMap and GammaGain settings, but it does nothing in the game. It would be awesome if you could tell me how you got rid of the blue tint.

Edit:: figured it out, forgot to set the global modifiers. I get some good results with #define HDRPower 1.70  #define radius2  1.10 - this keeps lights bright and fire contrast strong, but makes the whole map brighter.

So far I haven't gotten it working but I am still trying.

Oh crap that's why, there is a whole new folder it needs to run inside of.
      Steam\SteamApps\common\XCom-Enemy-Unknown\XEW\Binaries\Win32

Follow the directions as normal but use this folder and not the one listed and it should boot just fine.
