sure, its .net 3.5 C# and very very simple... I wrote it in about an hour at work one day when i was felling like not working.... shoot me an E-Mail and i'll send it along from "Djlink111@yahoo"
So is there a toggle that needs to be changed or anything?
Because I replaced my original defaultnamelist.ini with the one I made here and when I started a new game, it still assigned names that weren't on my list.
Awesome mod idea!! But wouldn't it be better if you assigned the first name and leave the lastname blank? I can't see any identifier that shows which sex a name belongs to. for example; m_arrMxMFirstNames="Smith Johnsson " m_arrMxLastNames="" instead of m_arrMxMFirstNames=" " m_arrMxLastNames="Smith Johnsson "
Because using the mash-up mode assigns right sex to right name(after adding some names to the .txt), even to names that wasn't assigned correctly ingame.
i think there was an issue with the text overflowing when using the last name field..... using the first name field left room for it to "overflow" into the last name space.
I have a hard time believing that figure but...... it was a database of female names i downloaded. It uses those common names to compare against. if the name matches a name in that list, the name is dubbed female, else its male by default. These are first names, and its a simple text file that can be added to or removed from
Are you saying that figure is to high or to low? I've only tried two games and I feel like it's usually correct but I still have to make some swaps. I saw your file where you have the male and female names but when I look at the names in the actual game file I can't figure out how the game is looking at name A and saying girl name and game b is saying guy name.
the comparison file is famalenames.txt . I have seen the gender come out approx 90% correct. the only other name file should be the defaultnames .ini that is used for the game.
the game has nothing to do with it, its all set by the defaultnames ini file there are arrays of female names and arrays of male names per country. it, by default, counts you friends and splits them by country. This can be manually modified later. the
So the FemaleNames file is what tells it if a name is female right?I've had Yoshi, Levi, and Ismail all show up as females but when I search the file I can't find those names in there. What am I missing?
