I actually feel bad for all the comments I did not answer in the last year or so... I have played lots of games, but most of which did not have mods support so I very rarely came to the nexus...
Sadly, there does not seem to be a way to get email notifications of new posts here... ALL of my email notifications are active in the settings yet i dont get emails from posts here...
Anyway, If anyone wants to reach me personally, send me a PM directly on the nexus forums and i'll answer 100% of the time :)
For anyone wanting to do small tweaks, you are more than welcome to try your luck! Be aware however that MOST settings are hard-coded in the save themselves and will only reset and work with a brand NEW GAME... As for how to edit the ini... get notepad++ or any other text editor, open the ini file from the download before installing the mod, start reading, trying to understand and changing values here and there... then install the mod and try them out! :) Thats how I did at first ;)
You can also compare the original file with this one to see precisely everything that was modified, changed and by how much. You can do that using a free tool like winmerge, or a plugin for notepad++ called compare, both of which are free and works really well to compare text files :)
first up i want to thank you for the mod and all the effort you´ve put into it. I appreciate it. But actually it doesn´t work at all for me. I put the file into the designated folder and started a new game - everything by the numbers so far. But in the end whether the solders nor the money or the time for science/ engineering were altered at all. They stay the same rookies with poor attributes and the money is scarce at it was before/ without the mod. I checked the path to the installation folder several times in order to exclude a mistake of this kind. What am I still doing wrong? Thx in advance for your effort!
I'm experiencing the same issue. I have LW installed and I extracted this mods file to my XComGame > Config folder and I don't see any difference. How do I know if it's working?
sadly the modifications done in "ini" mods like this modify the "growth rate", that is why its written in the readme and homepage to start a new game to use this. because it only apply to "new" soldiers that were not generated by the game prior.
that is a very good idea/suggestion! lol... i had never thought of it... since those are not level up stats, it can work even on an already existing game :)
I'm late to the party, but there is a mod of the Long War mod called Long War Rebalance. So I think the question is if this mod would be compatible with the mod of the mod.
i honestly have no idea, but my guess would be "probably" not since this is effectively also a "rebalance" in the "cheated" sense of the word I assume both mod changes the same files.. You can easily test it out by downloading both mods and comparing if the file are the same names (in which case its not compatible)
It would be really nice if you would add the details of the changes made bu this mod to the DGC.ini. > More Money How much more? >Better Soldiers (start off with much better Aiming, Will, Movement - Less XP per lvl, more psy, etc...) Details please kind sir! What Aim, Will, Movement do they start at? How does it improves over time? How much less XP? How much more money and Psy? >More electricity and Satellite uplink Any numbers to indicate changes please? >Faster building, research, healing, repairing, etc... FASTER EVERYTHING!!!! Any indication of how much faster? >A Lot More UFO item parts recovered from scavenging Again how much more? Any multiplier that you might want to mention?
It would be really helpful to us if you practice a bit more discretion with arbitrary values that you change in your mods. No hard feelings please, I loved the original Uber mod a lot but the Long War version seems like it's barely noticeable, so a bit more info on stuff you changed is really necessary in my opinion.
Do my soldier go past 70 will? I have most of my soldiers at the highest rank and barely anyone goes further than that.I asked because I have very low chances at the psi lab...
Hello, as someone that just started playing X-com and Long War a few months ago I just want to give you a big thanks for this mod. Your discription says "pretty much kills all difficulty" I dont necessarily find that to be the case at all. True I have some soliders with great aim, but the enemies still can get to you, especally when they mass elite units. If I didnt save scum I would have still lost a couple guys, and Im playing on Normal. The truly glorious thing about this mod is the research times as it seems to be cut by 3 times what it was. Example: Heavy plasma weapon research in normal Long War, 22 days, with this mod, 7. I was wondering, is there a way to alter the research times in the mod? Its almost too fast sometimes lol and when I research all the weapons I just want to alter the times just a bit and pretty much go back to playing regular Long War just with the other perks the Mod offers.
i think 99% is a bit harsh... although i havent played vanilla game so i wouldnt know
did you start a new game after changing the ini? as i understand it the ini is loaded only when you create a new game and then stored in the savegame... so a save made prior to changing the ini would not be affected...
they should start the first mission roughly between 60 and 80 hit ratio from pretty far... and quickly get to 95% as soon as they level up...
It was rather at the mission to rescue Zhang, that i noticed their aim at 60 was missing a lot. Still, if it will kick in, it'll make my troopers last that bit longer thankfully.

I ask because I'm getting my butt reamed enough by the base game, never mind Enemy Within too.
My soldiers miss 99% of the time though, and aliens still hit me like crazy.
Followed the instructions all the way though.

So in advance, thanks.
