Also, in the PatcherGUI.exe menu, Advanced > Disable Hash, should not one disable the hash for URB_Museum.upk, URB_Museum.upk, URB_Demolition.upk, and URB_GasStation.upk files? Looks like so according to PatcherGUIReadme.txt. Problem is when I try that, PatcherGUI.exe pops up a message stating "XCOM:EW already has hash check removed by developers!". Is that a problem? Why am I - often - CTD upon loading Skyranger's inside for any campaign start? Please help!?
I pretty much lost interest in this patch, If anyone wants to update the instructions or apply modifications, he/she can repost the mod, no need to credit me.
Looks like I managed to solve it by removing ", StreamingMaps[1]=( MapName="patch_hideroofs.upk", Loc=( X=0, Y=0, Z=0 ), Rot=( Pitch=0, Yaw=0, Roll=0 ) )" from the listing of demolition in DefaultMaps.ini
I haven't done any progress solving the texture problem.. it's more like a UDK material problem and I don't really know what to do of it.
The patches included in the pack allow seeing through the ceiling of the buildings on the map so you won't have to struggle with the camera as beagle did.I even did some bug patching on the museum maps. In an actual campaign some of the textures which are missing magicly appear, so the screenshots you see are the worst case scenario.
is there a way to force load a map using the dev console.. if there is i would be happy to try and make a quick and dirty attempt to texmod the broken textures.
The maps are loadable with devconsole enabled.. throught the quick tactical skirmish menu. You can also force a map with devconsole in strategic mode (in this case less materials are missing). With tactical skirmish Demolition loads fine, I don't know what could be possibly causing problems since beta14
Hmmmm... When trying to load any map using tactical the game crashes ... Guess I'll try and just remove all maps from the defaultmaps.ini and load them like that.. I'll get back to you soonish with result of the experiment
very sorry, but i think i might have made a mistake somewhere.. even if i try and load theese maps up where ive removed all other maps from the defaultmaps.ini the game will either hang or crash... untill ive figured out why i cant make any progress
are you sure you have the EU TFC files in your EWI folder? the .bat file is supposed to make symlinks and copy the maps from the EU to the EWI folder (If you have already patched the maps and re-run the .bat it will overwrite the patched maps). Even if the TFCs are missing the maps should load but without any textures. And if you have not patched the maps they will crash the game.
when i tried to use the batch file it said that the file was not found, so i went in manually and copied the files from \Steam\steamapps\common\XCom-Enemy-Unknown\XComGame\CookedPCConsole into Steam\steamapps\common\XCom-Enemy-Unknown\XEW\XComGame\CookedPCConsole and then used the patchergui to apply the fixes
but then i tried to open the bat file again, and saw that it wanted to make a link to 3 other files too, but since the patcher failed i guess thats the reason..
ah... think i found a possible reason.. i had a backup of my xcom folder on another drive, and when i deleted that folder, and shut down steam, that patcher worked and now the maps load, but by a stroke of bad luck its not possible to replace the missing textures as they ALL point to the same placeholder texture, so i am guessing the patched files is missing from refrence from EU to EW, and that requires UPK editing and that i dont know how to do.. very sorry
it means that apparently when it cant find the texture for whatever item, it uses a generic placeholder texture (in this case the white / blue chessboard thingie) so if i try and extract lets say the sidewalk i cant be sure i actually get that item and i will have to do ALOT of trail and error.. i will give it another shot this weekend to try and get it working.. was just too much work last week due to school, and i gave up kinda before i started... sorry

URB_GasStation causes a CTD on start.Can anyone confirm, or is it just me messing up with files way too much?I'm also having problems loading URB_demolition on longwar beta15e.. any idea what's causing it?
The reference to the patch has .upk at the end when it shouldn't remove .upk and they work fine
MapName="patch_hideroofs.upk"
to
MapName="patch_hideroofs"
?
EDIT: ho and patch_museum_multi is the same.....

Saw DeaconIvory's post over on reddit -- hopefully he or some of the rocket scientists can help you make a break through!! : )
Good luck!
