About this mod

Removes the effect of satellites on panic along with a number of balance changes to make the strategic level play more like the original X-COM.

Permissions and credits
After finishing the game a number of times, I started to get bored following the same satellite spam strategy in the early game over and over again. Build queues always ended up involving the same workshop, the same satellite uplink, and the same 3-5 satellites over and over again. I also disliked that the main mechanism for reducing panic to manageable levels was again, satellites.

This mod is designed to change XCOM so that the strategic level plays more like the original X-COM game and de-emphasises satellites. The following changes have been made:

- Satellites have no impact at all on panic. They are still useful for detecting UFOs, increasing monthly income, and gaining continent bonuses.

- Successfully completing abduction missions further reduces country and same continent panic to compensate.

- Successfully shooting down UFOs and completing UFO missions has a greater effect on panic to compensate. Furthermore, more UFOs will now spawn to increase chances for reducing panic. This makes keeping interceptors ready more important.

- The chance of a country leaving the council has been slightly reduced to compensate for overall increased panic.

- The penalties for ignoring a UFO or crash site have been reduced, to compensate for increased UFO appearance and prevent the game from becoming a constant UFO assault slog.

A number of other changes have been included from various mods on the Nexus, including:

- Second wave enabled, with working Marathon mode.
- Terror and abduction UFOs now show up, giving you a chance to stop those missions before they occur.

This mod is still in a beta phase, and needs testing to make sure it is well balanced. Any comments would be very welcome!
