If you want gender and race correctly assigned to your soldiers when using a custom name list check out the "Gender and Race Aware Custom Name List" mod for Long War: http://www.nexusmods.com/xcom/mods/531
You should do a silly name mod, like with names from Key and Peele's East West Bowl skit, and from Tim and Eric Awesome Show. I'd do it myself, but I don't know the first thing about modding.
Actually Ian, before this one I made an obscene name generator, which came out with some hilarious soldiers, unfortunately due to it's foul nature it has to remain where it was created
