Ok, now i see .. I buyed the game for Christmas. Before i just got a "not legal" version of the game.
If you want to use my mod within steam, you have to make the following steps first:
1. Edit C: Windows System32 drivers etc ->host File Open it with an Text editor and add the following lines: 127.0.0.1 prod.xcom-ew.firaxis.com 127.0.0.1 65.118.245.139
2. In your steam library, right click on your XCOM Game, and block any updates for the game.
3.Go to your XCOM directory: example: Crogram Files (x86) Steam SteamApps common XCom-Enemy-Unknown XEW Binaries ->Win32
-rename your XComEW.exe to XComEWReal.exe -rename your texmod.exe to XComEW.exe
Now you can start the XCOM Game-Launcher to start XCOM: Enemy within, instead of xcom, texmod will start, and you can choose your mods, and finally start the game.
If you want to play with an other language then english, then here is a fourth step for you:
4. (OPTIONAL) Change Language Head to the Config directory as example: C: Program Files (x86) Steam SteamApps common XCom-Enemy-Unknown XEW Engine -> Config Edit the BaseEngine.ini with an text editor and edit the following line:
Language=INT to Language=DEU (for german as example) or Language=INT to Language=FRA (for French) or Language=INT to Language=RUS (for Russian) ... ... ... Everything ok?
He who is wise in all things reskin/retexture, would it possible to create a small mod to swap the aesthetic of the Pulse lance/Particle cannon with that of the Minigun?
Not just the skin itself but have the higher tier weapons fire the same way. Essentially just cloning the aesthetic onto the other weapons. Minigun is just so satisfying to use, quicker snappier animation, better sound too imo.
Added this (the standalone version) alongside ObelixDk's urban camo and everything seems to be cooperating. I haven't gotten far enough to build MECs yet so I don't know if there will be any conflicts, but being able to have camo on my troops and my single SHIV is great. For anyone else who finds this in early 2017 like I did and wonders if x, y or z are compatible, here's my setup:
XCOM EW via Steam Long War 1.0 TexMod - Lestroyer's Facial Hair, Obelix' Urban Camo pack, Twist v06 standalone textures Eclipse666' Long War Mod Manager - Alien Sight Range Indicator, Better Blueshirts, Campaign Summary, EXALT Reminder, Hunker Down Fine Tune, Loadout Manager, Virtual Reality Training Second Wave, Carlock Reward Soldier, Enhanced Tactical Info, More Hours, Next/Previous Unit, Roulette Trees Shuffle, Revenge of the Sleeves
Plus, I made a lot of small ini tweaks, extended name lists and so on. I might be forgetting a small mod or two. Once I get to the point where I'm building MECs I'll get to see if I prefer Twistv06's MEC textures or ObelixDK's MEC Camo, but for now everything seems to be working nicely.
I thought it was supposed to be the "standalone" file but when I use that one the 3 helmets he updated to add the red eyes and such are also camo'd and darker than the rest of the mec. other helmets seem fine (no camo) but dont have texture changes to match the rest of the mec...
Great textures! Only one question or more of a request really. Is it possible to remove the red glow from the helmets? Perhaps make it into another version of the textures? I love the textures of SHIVs and MEchs, but the helmets with red glowing visors seem a little out of place (for me personally).
Too bad, cos it looks so good. Prolly wouldn't be so bad with Crossfire, but XCOM won't show shield icons with crossfire turned on, which kind of sucks.
mytwist1981, I'm not sure if you still check this thread or not but I wanted to tell you that I love these textures. The additional detail looks great and adds so much depth to the game. I'm using the combined textures and loving the camo as well. There is just one detail that keeps getting my attention: the camo'd MEC helmets. They just don't match the rest of the MEC. I'm not sure if there is anything that can be done about it, as the helmets match the squishy soldier armor patterns, but with the MECs, some of them clash.
Anyway, thanks so much for a great set of textures. They are very much appreciated.
So I already have 7z - basically trying to open the TPF file to "edit" it(if possible). The SHIV & MEC textures are nice, my only thought is to remove the few Camo Helmet still in the paq as they dont match anything and surely look odd on my Nano-Soldiers. I also d/l the 7z from the sit again (x64) to see if I needed an updated version but that failed to open as well. No go on WinRar ither.. any tips on this and/or editing out certain textures?
Added: Is it possible to add more and not simple replace or retexture in-game outfit?
Hello. I am fairly new to XCOM modding so apologies for any incorrect assumptions.
How does the order of TPF plugins work in Texmod? For example if there are two TPF packs that modify the same texture and both are loaded into Texmod, will one take priority over another? Does it depend on the order they are sorted in Texmod?
I'm asking, as I'd like to use New Textures for SHIV and MEC (Camo version, i.e. "Complete Bundle TWIST AND CAMO V06" file) and also Military Retexture Pack. As far as I'm aware, Camo mod and MRP modify some of the same textures, is this correct?
Is there any way I can get it working? I am asking about the order specifically, as on MRP page it states:
Install: Start Texmod.exe (included with the pack.) Click under Target Application, and find your XComGame.exe Choose Package Mode and with the folder icon in the middle browse for Armor.tpf and Weapon.tpf. Add any of the optional packs and using the green arrows move them above the main packs. Click Run.

Thanks.
