It's really the low aim snipers that are painful because:
1) you can't have them move closer to the target to compensate (sniper rifles suck badly at close range) 2) they can't use any other guns besides sniper rifles (except for pistols) 3) their class defining skills don't work with pistols (or any other weapon for that matter).
So, even you take a chance on that high mobility / low aim recruit, he might end up a sniper and give you the middle finger -- but that's only a problem for the early game before the ots upgrade which starts everyone at squaddie rank, it's not that big of a deal. He'd still make a viable mec, unless he also has very low will -- but only snipers can really get away with low will, so whatever.
Anyways, looking at the hex, this mod doesn't seem compatible with the latest EW.
I can't get mods to work for my game, while installing them in offline mod and trying to launch the game it just bums out on me. But that has nothing to do with this...
Since snipers already have a ridiculous aim growth, +7 upon being handed the sniper rifle and +7 when he reaches max... Is there a to modify this so that snipers and heavies are switched? Heavies should be slower in the first place since they are carrying a rocket launcher and a LMG.
I can completely understand the reasoning behind the hawk eye being given preference over the heavy but if that was the case then heavy shouldn't even have a funny looking curve with movement, not linear.
It's only a 26x4 graph and I'm sure I could cook something up that would make sense though I don't know how hard this would be to put into the game.
This sadly doesn't work for me. I have patch 401776. I guess it isn't updated yet. I really hope to see this getting updated soon, sounds pretty much essential for "not created equal".
I have Enemy Within and all the DLC's, yet for some reason my version.txt says 398179. I've done a verify file and have auto update on. Will your file work for me or should I try to figure out why I'm 179 and not 180?

I did feel a little guilty for having a bunch of OP marksmen. In Classic or higher where Sectoids are critting left and right, I don't feel so bad.
