    Does TexMod still work? For the life of me I can't get it to work in August 2022, and I just can't play without your mod. Any pointers?

    Hey, can I make my own icons? And do they need to be 64x64 in resolution, bmp in format and with a black background?

    I would like to use these rank badges to for the current long War Beta 3 15d. Where do I find the list of bmp images files in the Long War directory so I can copy the correct bmp files names?

    Cant get this to work. I've followed all instructions for installing with Steam. All rank names and icons remain vanilla even when starting a new game. Also cant launch EU, when I try it starts another instance of textmod. I know this is old but if anyone is still around I could use some help. Thanks.


    Sounds like you are having trouble installing TexMod correctly.  See if the wiki article "Modifying Textures" with step by step instructions, according to which version of the game you have installed: EU or EW, is any help.

    Or could I perhaps use Recource Hacker instead of Implassic to edit the defaultgamecore ini file and then use Exalt Mission's Reworked AND this one too? TY

    This mod makes no sense. xcom is not part of the US military.

    This is detected as a trojan with AVG, making this impossible to use without disabling protection.

      That's a known issue with Texmod, it creates a temp file that most scanners detect via heuristic scanning, it's actually a false positive. If you restore the temp file and add it to the exclusions on your scanner you can then run Texmod without disabling your scanner.

      I have AVG as well, I get the same issue. How do I add it to exclusions? I have no idea where to look nor how to set it.

    Hey there, I left you a small request in message box; your mod's almost perfect for me, only I'd rather have Lt. Colonel instead of PFC, something like:
    Private
    Corporal
    Sergeant
    Lieutenent
    Captain
    Major
    Lt. Colonel
    Colonel


    Do you think you could help me out here?

      Sure can. 1 question, do you want private left as is (using the PFC badge, USMC Private has no badge)?

      first rank could be straight private First class. after all xcom soldiers are supposed to be the best of best of worldwide military. thanks again for taking my request. default insignia area unacceptable and yours look extra cool and polished.

      By the way, I tried using the source to make myself the mod and spare you the chore but I didn't manage I get a "Build Status: Invalid Definitions" error when I try to compile the TPF using a modified .DEF file with path; I am sure it's something silly but it escapes me..
