Are all mods broken since 2nd patch? Ok, I dunno why, but for some reason steam was doing a first time installation after 2nd patch every time, and replacing the exe, idunno, deleted clientregistry.blob and it no longer does that.
@Scyles Yes, that was my feeling about the game too. I tried to "fix" it by increasing soldier injury times but that wasn't as fun as it sounds. I just slightly increased injury times and left it at that.
@FleM007 I think that's actually the Impossible AI in work and additional spawns compounds it. Enemies seem to seek and utilize high cover MUCH more often than when I played on classic. I actually noticed this very same thing but nothing has been changed with cover bonuses or accuracy. It's as Classic as can be.
hi and first : great job ! (even if im not going so far for the moment) but ... stop me if i'm wrong : the effect of cover has been increase ? (playing second wave marathon) and that make sniper completely useless .is there a way to make sniper ignore part of cover in his aim? there is no much class of soldier so making one useless... thanks for answer
I've spent about 20 hours with this mod. It's a very good mod but I feel that it could be improved. My complaints actually have more to do with the game itself rather than the mod, nevertheless these issues are highlighted when playing against "impossible" difficulty spawns:
-the first few maps are by far the most difficult
-if you are skilled enough to survive the first two months, all challenge is entirely lost shortly after
Again, these are general issues with the game but they are more apparent when playing with increased encounters and increased spawns (because soldiers rank up much faster than normal and become grossly overpowered much sooner). Reducing soldier xp will delay the issue. Increasing hp of mid-to-late game enemies back to default impossible levels will also help to prop up the mid game.
Anyone have any idea why now that I modded my game it will not start? I was playing on my main pc and it worked fine, got my pc on the tv working again and without mods, the game launches fine, but with mods the service starts, but no game. Any ideas?
Yes, if you open up the .txt file included in the difficulty you have chosen you can ctrl+f and search for ShowUFOsOnMission= and switch it to 0 and then re-install the mod. What I did in my own game is I just simply left Europe (because its bonus is still relatively useless) without satellites and UFO's just do their abduction/terror thing there while I shoot down the rest for tech (elerium, alloys, flight computers, etc) since Iv been pretty tech starved the entire game.
EDIT: After turning UFO's off and scanning for a bit, Iv learned that aliens don't conduct missions in areas with satellite coverage at all. After 4 months of nothing but scanning and shooting down battleships trying to break my satellites (hyperwave relay said that was their goal) I never got a single mission outside of Europe! So I think leaving it on is the best choice of action. The game slowed down considerably after I took it off because I had no sightings for an entire month.
@Mobucks The first couple of terror missions are very difficult but after that they become much more manageable and harden you for the rest of the game. To be honest, I didn't know zombies turned into chryssalids because Id never seen it in my first two playthroughs. I was destroying everything left and right and when I saw the option I thought Id turn terror missions into impromptu zombie apocalypses! Instead, I got Starship Troopers getting over run by bugs and lost Canada.
Im really liking this mod! But during late game, not much actually happens. Is there a option to turn off abduction UFOs being downable? I dont mind seeing the Battleship more often actually, since I find that the downed battleship missions are still challenging when you got all the techs etc. But at endgame, panic isnt really an issue anymore since you have sattelites everywhere and are shooting down everything. Also as you say, the downed abduction UFO map is...Really bad. Kinda understand why they disabled it to begin with.
Or is there any way to increase the amount of UFOs that are appearing later in the game? I want the aliens to throw everything they have at me!

I drug over the profile and the save files.
