Thanks to NexusM66 nice approach, CleanerHUD now contains changes made by Reflex Sight for TrackIR mod. So if you are TrackIR user - don't forget to endorse that mod.
Also Yojenkz's post on Egosoft forum was a strong inspiration for changes regarding lowering hull/shield bar in external view and moving some UI elements closer to edge screen.
Removing those rectangles was the whole point of creating this mod :) PM me if you are interested of reverting them, I'll guide you how to modify this mod to achieve that.
Hate to bother you with a DIY request, but I love your mod and am in dire need of assistance. I can’t read the central HUD as it is way to small on my crappy 1080p screen. example here: https://imgur.com/a/yIkUuMu I already skimmed through " targetsystem.xpl", but cant seem to find all needed changes to make it bigger and lower, or at least revert it to vanilla size and position. Please help!
If you want to enlarge the hull/shield bar - experiment with `scalingFactor` config variable in `crosshair handling.xpl` file. By default it is set to 0.003. Small adjustements should get you desired result. As for the position - try playing with 'setCentralElementsPosition' method of the same file - there's a separate logic for external and 1st person view.
It would be cool if you'd incorporate the Reflex Sight mod into this. The Reflex Sight is essential for anyone using a head tracker, but it changes one of the same files (crosshair handling), so it isn't possible to use both mods without manually trying to merge the two together, which I'm not entirely sure how to do correctly. Players not using head tracking would see no difference...
I am NexusM66 and I endorse this Product and/or Service!
srsly tho, I encourage anyone who wants to, to incorporate the (very simple) reticle changes from my Reflex Sight mod in their own, with or without credit - don't care; I just want proper TrackIR support!
Thanks to NexusM66, the Reflex Sight mod changes could be integrated. @Keeper1st could you test if those changes work for you? I'm not using head tracker myself.
Thank you for providing PROPER comparison screenshots :oD
Often in games-mods i see such comparison shots where the "scene" much or less totally changes, which makes it difficult to see a change since the eye has to adapt constantly when switching back and forth. When actually, when changing HUD or colours or so, the scene which is used to display the diffence, should be PRECISELY the same ( bar the modded content of course )
For 7.0 version of the game use 'Cleaner HUD for 7.0RC1' mod version from optional files section. I won't be able to update the mod until the beginning of July - but this version should be good as I don't expect that Ego will implement some breaking UI last-minute changes.
Was wondering if it's possible to add a toggle to hide the shield / hull bars when in 3rd person. I'd love to hide these for recording without having to hide the while UI and also having them hidden permanently.

Sniped out the 7.1 update as soon as it stuck its head out :)

There will be update to CleanerHUD mod shortly after the 7.0 release.
