This mod doesn't really need an update due to X4 version. It edits all the engines (split and terran included). ToA added no new engines so no worries.
It may need a look if Shuul (VRO author) somehow remakes engine balance though. But I started new VRO campaign just yesterday and S ships are easily reaching ~10km/s speed on travel engines. My bet is that VRO travel speeds are still the same hence this mod is still fine.
It's perfectly save compatible as again it changes only some engine stats (no new items added). You can enable it, check if you like the things, disable if you don't. Also as those stats are not so difficult to understand and mod is unpacked (no cat/dat, only xml) you can edit anything you want with any text editor.
Does this mod destroy the advantage that Terran engines gain for their enormous expense? (For reference, as is discussed in this YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exSIxIqJvos )
