I released it as open source under the MIT license, feel free to do what you want-or send me a PR and I'll look at merging it in - https://github.com/mr-jonesandme/x4f_carrier_based_training
from xml based fixed english structure to multilanguage support with t-files text ids + some more decent style formatting. I didn't change anything of the english texts nor formulas.
Oh and i added frigate to the allowed training ships. I use VRO and so i have access to Panther and Shrike frigates. And after a simple L freighter work for the mod, why not a military L frigate. ;)
Hello, just installed the mod, looks amazing but... i can't see any message about the training progress in the tips section, and I've checked the option about that. I have messages about the starting of training and the periodic credit debit in the other section. I'm just wondering if it's working as intended or not, in a hour or so i did not see any visible xp progression. Regards
Does the mod also train subordinates of its own subordinates?
The levelling is a bit slow, granted I don't want to cheat. Do you have some metrics of what to expec?. I've played for about 10-15 hours with a L ship with 10-11 subordinates and none seems to have increased in pilot level. The main captain were also trained from 3 to 4 via pilot-training meanwhile it did its training of subordinates.
Actually i digged in your mod files. I found one mismatch, where you use green and red for the same message in log/notification. Don't actually know the line, as i corrected it directly. I also changed it to a t-files format. I dislike mixed language games. Edit: finished german translation.
If interested in the t-file version, i could give you the link to changes.
May i suggest you, to stop excessive use of green/red? Green and red have the character of financial transactions. It's okay for costs and critical things, but for the most normal log entries i wouldn't use it.
For your kind of mod i would suggest neutral blue as main color. \033U It's a feature mod, not a critical fight/financial mod. Red only for insufficient fees as warning signal. Yellow (maybe orange) for the missing assignment upon completion target, this thing is also not that critical, because the trained ship stay at train leader and is not lost in space. Second yellow (maybe orange), when commander has nobody to train
A list of all short codes: \033 + (R, G, B, U, O, C, M, Y, A, Z, W, X) X = color end W = white A = light grey Z = dark grey O = orange R = red M = magenta C = bright blue U = blue B = dark blue-purple G = green Y = yellow
Any possibility to get an report on what crew levels were raised? Instead of a report on just that we are working on it and these pilots reached your intended level?
Does this only raise the pilots level or does it affect the Marines and Service Crew on the ship that is being trained. Also does it level the Crew on the commanders ship as well?
The first one isn't really possible without hurting game performance by adding functions to also keep track of each individual crew member, so I left it out
Pilot + service crew. Service crew get some morale + eng experience. Marines are not affected. Commander has a shot at a very small XP bump for pilot + mgmt skills for each pilot which is successfully trained

Just copy the folder "carrier_based_training" and replace files with original.
Ed1t: the mod is open source, so I would imagine the author gladly accept contributions. :)

Thanks for the mod though. :)
