I just tried it with the [Basic] Foundation Blue paintmod within my own S-M maintenance bays shipdealer. Was able to buy a batch of 100 and after that just clickt on Buy Paintmod again and it was full again, and I bought another 100.
Do you have any other mod installed that may cause problems?
since the last update from this modder was several years ago and he didnt update it anymore i took the time and updated the libraries myself to the latest version with all paintmods available in the ship trader, was quite a hassle to say the least and mostly did it for myself but i thought people want this too so why not share it?
ive tried to follow the modders footsteps and kept the order like he did and also followed his price scheme as best as i could but maybe there are some things that dont cost as much as they may should , i just used the wiki and ingame libraries to fit everything in as best as i could , ive tested every single skin and they all work perfectly for me (with all dlc) so i guess have fun with all the nice stuff :)
credits for this mod still go to the modder (not me) i just put the missing pieces in
to keep things organized i put some skins together with the same faction prefix that are available to 2 factions just because they are a skin bundle anyways like for example free & fallen families skins so dont get too confused when you see skins just having 1 of the 2 possible faction prefixes :)
so all you have to do after youve downloaded this mod here is to put the Libraries folder from the download i provided below into your ...steamapps\common\X4 Foundations\extensions\ShipTradersSellPaintMods folder and overwrite the existing files , done
if your game was running when you put the files in , either reload a savegame or restart the game to see the new stuff in the traders
updated for game version 5.10 with all 3 dlcs (127 paintjobs total now, 4 default and 123 available to purchase )
Hi, I got permission to edit this mod. For personal use I added CoH and ToA Paintjobs into the mod. Now I merged my version with the files of gnoddi and updated the files and description.
So does purchasing a paint job make it a permanant unlock or is it gonna be limited like the foundation X/obsidian X ones are normally? I'm looking for one that makes it a perma unlock so I can set paints I like as company default
A note for those using Linux: If the mod loads and shows as enabled, but does not seem to work or make any changes, it may be due to some of the folders or files in this mod having Capitalization. For example, renaming the xml file to "npc_shiptrader.xml" in lower case will allow the mod to work.
Great Mod. Always fun to play paper doll with spaceships, and this mod makes it easy and fun to do so. Be prepared to go broke dressing up your ships. :)
I've edited the wares.xml to have random prices.for each paint job. Thank you for these helpful comments in your files, they help a noob like me a lot.
I cannot get this to work, I can buy the paint jobs but when I go to place them on my ship there is no icon for paint jobs ? can't seem to find where to install them now that I have bought them off the trader?
I'm all for that you can buy these paintjobs to be honest, but aint them just for 'pre-order' and those 'online missions'-rewards? Feels like cheating a bit here :P Thanks tho for you work! :)
Sure if you look at it, that you have to have a unmodded game to do the online missions. But sad part is most of the mods i use is something that should have been implemented in the base game, and i should'nt have to mod to FIX their game. Faster explorer for one, instead of sitting 5 min in one spot, then move 10km further, he only waits 5 sec. Try do a game with a npc explore a sector: 10 hur into save and he only uncovered 5-10% of a sector, instead of 50% with the mod. just a single mod and you cant do online stuff. So ye, i will take this "cheat" for now...

Summarily filenames and folder names must have a lowercase, otherwise the game will not read them.
ich changed all folder and filenames to lowercase. I have no linux or mac, please be so kind and test if it does work now.
Thank you.
