Looking for feedback on 1.1, I'm thinking it's too intense and might need to be reduced a bit in the next version (you can always customise to your liking).
You mean make them brighter than normal cruise overall, or stop them from reducing in intensity so much at slow travel drive speeds? I find that annoying but I havent investigated yet. I suspect its something thats hardcoded though.
It may just be a natural result of increasing saturation of specific colours; less light overall. Cause the cool engine bloom is gone too, I guess on purpose to show the tint better? idk. look at the last screenshot you have, one is bright, and one is not. Maybe this just isn't for me idk :D
Yeh, the 'cool bloom' is directly linked to how bright the engine currently is. The closer to white you get the brighter the bloom, but you lose saturation. Its a difficult balancing act because the 3 different engines all use the same texture but they use it in different ways, eg the combat engines are much brighter overall because they have almost no darker areas near the edges of the nozzle, the allround are the opposite - lots of depth to them - changing the texture is a balancing act with a lot of moving parts. And yeh, the idea here is less intense brightness, deeper colours. I'm contemplating going in and changing the actual engine meshes to make them all much more uniform in their brightness - but thats a lot of work ontop of a project thats already a lot of work. I also suspect that egosoft are going to do something about engines very soon which will make this mod redundant (and I'm on and off making my own engines too). And its all good if its not for you!
This is probably easier to show than to tell :) Linked video shows ship flying in travel mode, and then dropping out. This causes the engines to go super intense, and I wish they were this intense during travel drive cause it looks awesome with my GI reshade.
Hello again, yeh I noticed that early on. I want this too but I need to investigate a lot of things, like I said there are a lot of moving parts. Not sure if the intensity curve is even moddable, i'll need to ask some more knowledgeable people for help.
Updated the mod with more intensity. Im sure some will think its too much, others too little. Will continue to tweak.

Yeh thats planned but it depends if its possible to switch them while maintaining savegame compatibility. I would like to adjust those and boost fx colour too.
