About this mod
Adds software upgrade options to the ships that add a reaction effect to crystals within range of the upgrade when hit with the Long Range Scan pulse. If you uncheck "Require CRS" in the mod menu, you can skip the software requirement, this is useful for ships added by other mods or if you want to skip the software requirement portion of the mod.

####### The "Problem" #######
I've always found crystal hunting to be less interactive than I would like, just sit and watch for a little spark here or there, find it and shoot it.
Sometimes it's a pain to find crystals, sometimes my eyes just don't catch them, etc... So like most users, I would head to the Workshop or Nexus to find the latest crystal mod which, while extremely useful and amazing (thank you to all those who have made them!) they just weren't quite right for what I wanted.
####### My Solution #######
With the various crystal mods out there not quite fitting what I wanted my experience to be, I set out to learn the modding system (which I am still 10000% a noob at) and created my own approach to the crystal experience in x4 and thus this mod was born! A huge shoutout to the x4 modding community for all the tutorials, walkthroughs, and the discord community.
####### How does it work? #######
By default (and this is all configurable in the mod menu), you can now install a "Crystal Resonance Scanner" upgrade to your ship that will assist you in finding crystals. This upgrade will cause crystals within the upgrades range to react to the pulse sent out by your long range scanner for 10 seconds before the energy dissipates. Different versions of the scanner have different ranges, the Mk1 upgrade has a max range of 2000 meters, the Mk2 has a max range of 5000 meters.
If you want to adjust the scan ranges for the different versions, those can adjusted in the mod menu in game, you can also disable the software requirement as well if you just want the scan effects from the same menu.
NOTE: This mod doesn't not directly affect the range of the long range scanner function, the sliders only adjust how far out the scan will affect crystals.
####### Mod Details/Info #######
Required Mods:
- SirNukes Mod Support API mod
Compatibility:
- Should be compatible with other crystal mods as the only thing on the crystals themselves that I've changed is the removal of the default sparkle (glowing, spawning rates and cooldown, etc... are all untouched)
- Any mods that add ships to the game will not have the scanner available by default, the additional ships would have to have their software compatibility list updated to include the new software OR you can uncheck the "Require CRS" option in the ingame menu and enjoy!
- This mod does not make any changes to the actual function of the long range scanner, so it should be compatible with any of the various long range scanning mods that are available though I've not tested it.
What's been changed?
Added:
- A menu added to the "Extension Options" menu to control a few options with the mod (this is why SirNukes Mod API is needed)
- 2 new wares that can be found under the Software upgrades of the ships (like the police scanner, docking computer, etc...). These 2 wares are a Mk1 and a Mk2 scanner upgrade under the "Crystal Resonance Scanner" section.
- Some different options for effects that can be applied to crystals found in the scanning range
Removed:
- The default sparkle/twinkle of the crystals have been removed completely
History:
v1.00:
- Removed vanilla crystal blinking
- Added an effect applied to crystals found in the specified ranges
v1.01:
- Fixed the versioning in context.xml so proper version displays in game extensions list
- Added higher brightness levels for further experience customization and compatibility with other mods
- Added ping style effects like what you would get with lock boxes or data vaults
- Added 2 sound options that can also be applied to the crystal finds
- Adjusted the menu to allow the mixing and matching of the various options (glow reaction and ping reactions)
- Added a sound test button in the menu to hear the currently selected sound option
