    -Tweak: Sorting by date and name now properly sort within the group. E.g. previously, files weren't sorted by date within the group
    -Tweak: Files with the same player name are always listed together when sorted by name or date. But files that have not been tagged by the mod (i.e. entries coloured white) are still separated from files that have been tagged by the mod (i.e. entries with a colour).
    -Tweak: Easier to understand save file list.
    -Tweak: More compact save file list because each save file only occupies one line.
    -Bug-fix detection of new or loaded game.

    Hello kuertee, is it possible to do similar for extensions? e.g. group by author, ideally with showing dependencies of extension in list itself?

    Hi Kuertee,

    This mod does not work for me, in 7.10. I installed it following the instructions.
    I am on Linux if it changes something, as the save files are not in the same place than Windows.

      Hey FTBelmont, I don't have Linux, so I can't test it.
      The location of the save files is unimportant.
      What is important is the data stored in the file called uidata.xml
      On Windows, it's located in "C:\Users\[windows user name]\Documents\Egosoft\X4\11852635\uidata.xml"
      Can you send me (at [email protected]) that file, please?

    Hi, this mod doesn't work for me. Theres zero change after install. I have no idea. Do I need to start a new game with this mod?

      If your base game at the public beta 7.0.0 version, you need to update UI Extensions to its 7.0.001 version.

      I am not at 7.0 beta. The 1 and 2 saves are from the same game. The 3rd is from the previous version and is outdated. Shouldn't they be separated?

      the tagging of saves by the mod happens when you save a game.

      so at first install, all your saves are not tagged with the mod's ids and are separated by player name.

      when you start overwriting saves, it'll start to separate them by the mod's ids.

      do all 6 of those saves have the same player names? they should be grouped by player name at the least.

      I have saved a bunch of times with the mod installed and it seems the mod never tags them. The first five saves is from one game and they have the same player name. The last one has a different player name.

      yeah, it looks like it's not working. can you create a debug log, please, as described in the Troubleshooting section of the mod's read-me or in this page's Description tab.

      when you create one, go into the Load Game menu. Then load a game. you should see a line like this in the log file.
      Then save a game in a new save slot.

      When the mod is working, you should see a line like this in the log file.
      [=ERROR=] 21.95 uix funcName: onMainMenu: gameId (from most recent save game, autosave_03) = UIXGameId_1 at: line: 328 of: ...tensions\kuertee_ui_grouped_save_files\ui\helper_uix.lua

    If I try to start a new game with this the new game process never leaves the intro cutscene.  This behavior ceases and new games begin as normal if I remove the mod.

    Repro steps:

    1) Start x4
    2) Main menu loads (in my case forced to Cradle of Humanity scene)
    3) Start a new game (in my case genesis/pio)
    4) character performs their speech as the camera begins moving forward through the scene
    5) Scene (e.g. Mars) continues to play indefinitely (or, at least, several minutes) rather than fading to black and showing the loadscreen

      I even tried disabling bunches of mods for so long since I enabled this for a while.

      Found the problem. It is actually in UI Extensions.
      The bug: "The callback for starting new games with an intro monologue (e.g. Segaris Pioneer gamestart) was sending an invalid variable causing the game to not proceed after the intro monologue."

      Install the new UI Extensions to fix the problem.

    v6.2.013, 25 Feb 2024:
    -Tweak: Files that have not been tagged with a game id will be grouped by player name. These files are generally listed at the bottom of files that have game ids. Or when you first install this mod, these are all save files because no save files are yet tagged with a game id.

    will this mark saves as modified? would love to use it if it doesnt, so I can organise saves from different starts.

      when you create a save with the mod active yes.

      but if you're careful and only activate the mod when playing with the modded saves, then the unmodded saves will be untouched.
