   Thanks for this. Can you also remove the ship landing sound, please? This is the most annoying and loudest of all. Oh and the big hangar doors for M-class ships  are a nuisance too.

      Incase anyone else is interested in this, I think the sound effect is:
      "sfx\engines\landing\enginedetail_ship_landing"
      
      Just search for that (there's multiple entries that use that sfx) in an extracted sound_library.xml
      
      I never noticed it being too loud in the same way as the elevator sound.

   I totally never knew this mod existed :(
   
   Personally, 0.35 is fine for me.  Vanilla is 0.40, which is simply too loud for the small distance value (0.05).

   In space no one can hear you scream...     but apparently Egosoft thinks you can hear everything happening in the entire universe.
   
   Now to continue on my search to get the random radio banter/chatter silenced.
