Ok it seem like it's working just fine in 7.50, and all I can say is, thank you mate. I've sat this whole day setting up my miners, filling up my station with resources and being unable to trade it. My miner-traders didn't do anything at all. I just got this and the ships picked up goods and decided to deliver it to several sectors further away.
Edit: Nvm, it stops constantly. Realised that I should just stick to earning money with the bounty hunter mod, or not have my own station as storage.
V 1.3 Changed the Advanced Auto Trader to require 2 stars pilot only. Set the max range at av 8 sectors, but could revert to 5 after a while (testing), still adv trader can be a 2 star pilot so it is useful even with the max of 5 sectors. To solve the issue, the new Expert Trader requires to be 3 stars (as previous vanilla adv trader), not 4. So Expert trader should work without reverting to the sector's limit because it is a new script of mine so there is no default to go back. Expert trader can reach a max of 12 sectors and can be used early with a 3 stars pilot.
This mod is promising but for now, it is bugged (at least in my game):
- The number of sectors still reverts back to 5 after a time and immediately when it has already been back to 5.
- When the Expert Autotrade is selected, a huge question mark appears on the map - bigger than shipyards - when the ship is at the stage 'Searching for trades'. It is the right icon but much oversized.
There are two directories in the mod zip (?), xpert_trader and XpertTrader. They are slightly different but both are bugged the same.
I tried without Mules Extension or Mules and Warehouses but the bugs remain. --------------
The ships under a station manager are limited to the vanilla 5 sectors (as stated in the posts). If the 12 sectors limit was working, it would greatly simplify the sales for a mega HQ, since the 5 sectors limit prevents selling directly to the major part of the universe. I hope you can/will/want to solve that part (?).
Suggestion: it would be practical to implement the same 'assistance' than the one provided by Mules Extension when asked which wares a freighter can transport. Instead of having to open the 'Add/Remove Wares' window and click up the screen to select all the wares, then go fully down the screen to click OK, it is much better to do nothing because by default 'All the Wares' is already selected. (because of the 10 to 5 bug and the question mark, I had to change my 74 freighters settings 3 times...).
I definitely love your STARS-Backgrounds and Planets. Wouldn't play without it. I recommend it warmly.
Would it be possible to also apply to traders that trade for stations? On my stations that have 5 star managers, the traders are stuck at 5 out of 12 range. Range seems to be limited still by the station manager 5/5.
I must find a workaround for that, I changed the params correctly as for free traders and have no errors but seems some other file overwrites it. It accepts the 12 limit but the manager uses only 5. Probably I have to change the params in manager's script not only in the trader's, will look..
hi . it has nothing to do with your mod, but anyone thought of changing the percentage of success in the terraforming project of "finance a start-up"? Because a 10% chance of success is really ridiculous. Egosoft doesn't know larry. lol . It's a good idea for a little mod, no? if I knew how to do it, I'd do it myself, but I don't know anything about it.
I don't know, I Just use this for the free traders that roam in the universe. But I think not, if It Is broken in vanilla this mod does not fix It. Consider that I do not change anything more than the ratio expressed in vanilla script. I don't implement my own routines or such. For that there are more complex mods for traders. But I prefer simplicity and not burdening the engine with additional scripts if not strictly necessary. I see my game goes smother without
Works very well for me ! (250+ trade ships mostly M) If there is anyway to find the supply ship settings & change them as well it would be great help. In the old days I would try & help, but at 75, nearly 76 I'm just too wore out.
I have not tested in-game yet, only found the file for supply while looking for the others and changed it accordingly. 12 is the limit, but it depends on pilot's stars. A lower rank pilot should have the upper limit reduced, not a cap while showing the max.
EDIT: I've updated the file, - updated the script for resupply ships - fixed again another bug that reverted the limit at 5 after some time, a script was probably missing - set limit at 10 not 12 - added also the Expert trader (18 sectors, 4 stars)
