Strange. Unfortunately, I don't have time for X4 at the moment. And V7 is still beta. When V7 is officially released I will probably come back and take care of the mod.

Because of the "Attack on asteroid" notification SPAM for every stray bullet, I can only use this mod when troubleshooting while I lost reputation. Unfortunately this means I need to save often (which is slow).
Only wish this asteroid attack spam would be fixed. I might look into fixing this myself and if I figure it out I might add the fix here.

Quick FYI, I just had this helpful mod run amok and notifying me about every "attack" by a miner on an asteroid. Will activate again when I need it again and try but that may be a long time away. Thanks for writing this!

    Author sir,

Thank you for this very useful mod. But I got some issue I would like to discuss.

    - I disabled "display enemeies" (enabling only "display friends and neutrals"). The mod really didn't "display" attacking enemies on the small notification window but the voice still called out. This became unmanagable when I had fleets fighting enemies on many fronts.
    - May I suggest a different "short voice notification"? Instead of "ATTENTION SELF FACTION ATTACKING" which conveys little meaning, I suggest something like a unique notification sound followed by the sector name. For example: "BEEP GETSU FUNE".

      Hello,
since I don't play X4 at the moment, my version is still 6.2, it may be that the mod has problems with versions from 7.0. Unfortunately I can't help you at the moment. If I ever go back to X4, I'll update the mod, I myself wouldn't play without it.
But I wouldn't release a mod that I can't test thoroughly myself. Sorry and thanks for your suggestion.

I can't say anything about incompatibilities with 7.0 at the moment as my latest X4 is 6.2.
Too many mods that I would have to check whether they work with 7.0. Some cannot be uninstalled because they are stuck in the save.
    A rather time-consuming affair.
And on top of that, I'm not interested in the DLC. Unfortunately I don't have the time to fix everything and my interests have shifted somewhat. I'm not playing X4 at all at the moment.
I apologize for not being able to share better news at this time.

But should I update to 7.0, the first thing I'll do is fix this mod. I don't want to play without it either. Promise.

This mod is very useful due to the damn unauthorized attack issue. However, with 7.0 it get's a bit broken (better said, config get's resetted).

At the moment, when you position a few capital ships in front of a gate for defense, betty is swarming you with notifications like this :

Attention - self - Faction -attacking- "target aquired" -faction

for every stray bullet that hit the gate (which are A LOT). This really riuned my game, since i nearly forgot about this mod :)

However, even with updated support API there is no hotkey visible so i can shut up betty.... I read below that I have to run pipe server ? What exactly  is file doing ? I don't feel comfortable if i have to run any strange exe's next to my game while playing it. Is there another way to set the hotkey, maybe in config file  via notepad ?

    Thanks for helping :)

P.S. Just a friendly suggestion, the audio queue should be disabled by default.

Difficult, if you want to use custom hotkeys you have to run the pipe server. Egosoft does not, to the best of my knowledge, provide any options for custom hotkeys.  But the pipe server is safe, don't worry.

So... yeah. It seems like this mod needs a review for 7.0.
I had hoped to figure out why in the goddamn I'm losing rep with Boron due to "unauthorized attacks", but I'm still getting as much information with this mod as I did without it.

Edit: Yup, double-checked it. I think, my miners in Watchful Gaze (Boron speedran claiming it, little buggers) plink at passing Paranid ships with their turrets and it causes attacks being reported to Boron, and the mod doesn't account for that kind of message.

I changed all miner ships' turret settings to "Defend" (used to be "Attack all enemies" because it made them noticeably better at dealing with random Kha'aks flying around in the system), but would love a confirmation.

OK...at the risk of asking a very stupid question, I've been looking and looking and I don't see this option:
"-Hotkey: If you want Betty (speech system) to keep her mouth shut, you can switch off the speech via hotkey at any time. The hotkey can be set under Settings/Control/General. Other filter settings can be switched via hotkey too."

I don't see any hotkey options related to Betty's voice, or this mod in general in Settings/Control/General. I've searched that menu for "betty," toggle," "voice," "speech," etc, and I'm not seeing anything inserted in there since adding this mod that's clearly related to the mod itself.

Is that a default hotkey option that I can't seem to find? Should I have something in there? If so, what is the specific verbiage, what specific section within the General hotkey list is it in, and/or how can I troubleshoot if it's just not displaying for some inexplicable reason?

I did switch on the option in the extension settings for the short Betty voice message since I can't find the toggle. I'll try that for a while.

Otherwise the mod works great. I quite like it.

Hi, first of all I'm glad you like the mod.

It looks like you don't have the mod 'support mod apis' installed. Without this mod you will not be able to set hotkeys. See in the requirements, there is the link.

I do have the Support Mod APIs installed and still cannot find the setting. So I will repeat the question of the previous poster of what is the hotkey setting called, what section it's in, is there a default hotkey?

You need to be running the Pipe Server at the same time as X4 to get access to custom hotkey settings.

I own Sanctuary of Darkness and I get notifications for non-hostiles destroyed by area damage :-)

    Hi there,

I am a bit confused by this mod. I often get notifications pop up in my cockpit view, telling me I have a reputation loss of -43 (something like that) for attacking a station, while I am just flying around, and when I check my rep it's +13.

    Is this bugged?

      Hi,
This should not normally happen. However, I'm not sure if the mod is still compatible with update 6.2, as I don't have the time for X4 at the moment. So far, however, no one has reported any problems in this regard. If anyone has noticed incompatibilities with 6.2, please let me know.
