Hey Rothank, this is nice mod; concept of light carrier to help patrol own sector, but can you make limit from 15 to at least 25 S-class and make M-class landing pod on middle of this cirlce 1 + 1 in storage area? :)
M pad is 185 (long) x 115 (wide) x 115m (tall/deep). Hokkaido's middle section has a diameter of ~160m, making it too small. Even ignoring that - Hokkaido is ~60m tall (in the tallest point), it would need to be at least twice that to fit an M pad.
As for carrying capacity - the mod is packed as loose files, you can edit it however you want. The ship capacity can be modified in this file:assets\units\size_l\macros\shipstorage_ter_l_carrier_01_macro.xml
Personally I love the fact that you made a small ship not have a lot of internal storage. That always bothered me about X4 ships in general: they seemed to be able to carry more ships internally than the exterior could account for.
Hey, quick question: I am using the VRO mod and there is a Chiba available but it has only three landing pads with one in the circle part. That seems worse than this version. Is that how it should be? Would it be possible (for me) to use your mod with a different ship name?
this version of Chiba was originally meant as a replacer for VRO's, but apparently Shuulo never got around to implementing it. The "new" Chiba is available as part of Reemergence or you could replace the files, but this will break all existing Chibas and is a lot of finagling around with individual files. Either way - both options are savebreaking.
As a third option - yes, it is possible to rename this ship (in t-file) to simply add it to your existing VRO game. You would also need to modify the ship's connection tags and create iShield macro (and link it to the ship, as described on VRO wiki).
Thank you for the quick answer. It's a bit sad that this version never got implemented, the current Chiba doesn't seem worth it. Maybe I'll be able to figure out how to patch your version into the game, but I have minimal experience with modding this game so it will be challenging.
Hello! I really like this mod, it is truly awesome. I was wondering if you can make a version where, instead of additional landing pads you could put L turret spots. It would make it into a very sexy destroyer! Thank you!
Hi there! Thank you for the kind words! As for turreted version - L turret footprint is significantly larger than that of an S pad (60x60m vs 45x40m) and it would not fit on this ship without completely rebuilding entire front. If you are looking for turret-heavy destroyers for the Terrans, I'd suggest checking out Terran Cruisers!
Wow thank you for a fast response! Yeah, I saw the problem with margins, but maybe a dumb fix could be to simply enlarge the entire ship to make it fit, but your point very valid. This ship is my favorite, I like to play with it like a brawler frigate, as I see it as a medium flagship. I just started playing the game, and I really do not know how hard it is to make ships, but I understand it is difficult. Again your ship is awesome and thank for your hard work!
There is something missing from the ships details. It's a carrier. It has 5 small landing pads. But there are no details as to how many "s" class ships or drones it can carry. Something I'd want to know if I was spending 'X' amount of millions on one.
That would be true, if I had downloaded the file. But thanks for changing the description. It looks fast enough to keep up with some of my "L" cruisers as they go out on patrol. I hate having huge groups of 2 or 3 "L" ships followed by 20+ "S" class fighters doing patrol. I'd rather have 4 ships if one is a carrier and if I make it as the lead ship, others will have to follow her. Plus she looks really nice. Very clean looks to it 8-))... Thanks again. Plus you have a kudos now ;-))...
i have VRO also active in game. and the mod is active awell, but can`t find the ship in the shipyards and or blueprints. does it add the ship ass a standalone or does it override the chiba from vro?
Hi, The ship is NOT compatible with VRO (VRO Chiba overrides it), as stated in the second paragraph of the description. It will replace the current Chiba in the next VRO update.
I am pretty new to the game and I wanted a small carrier! when I got the L miner as a terrain i was so surprised we didn't have a carrier option for the hull, this mod will test it!
Thanks for pointing that out. To be honest, I have not considered mac/linux compatibility at all and forgot they are case sensitive. Will fix when uploading the next update.
Wonderful! This is the Terran light carrier I imagined for a long time! Have you ever tried using Guppy's docking area? It is a single 4S docking area, which seems already very suitable for this hull.
That would certainly be better than the dirty hack of multiple dock areas combined I am using now! In a couple days I'll try to make my own custom dock area and landing pad model and, if successful, will replace current ones with a "proper way to do it". If I fail I will definitely look into how Guppy is set up. I hope she serves you well!

Hokkaido looks to good to be just a miner.
