Not sure if it's just me but the mod didn't work at first as of version 6.2 of X4. But adding the following to the bottom of the content.xml before the final </content> line made sure it loaded after VRO and it now works as intended. Thanks for the mod, I love the slower pace and more X3 feel, though I'll probably just use greatly reduced travel drive speeds instead of none after giving it a shot.

...plus: <dependency id="ws_3019151303" optional="false" name="VRO Assets"></dependency> with the new VRO version.
After some days of using it - nice totaly recomendable.
But... some things you need to consider for palying with it: - I am using XRSGE mod, so sectors are roughly between 1000km and 15000km in size. That means traveling takes a hell of a time with this mod. - When using it it also slows down production considerably - in my case roughly 10times! This, while it now takes longer to supply your fabs with materials (mining, transprort,...) This also leads to a very slow rate for building (new fabs, stations and even ships). Also you will find your fabs mostly doing nothing, bec. of ressources - thus while they are taking now more time to be transported. - Combat: Mods like sector patrol or reaction force are now only partly useable, same goes for kuertes combat ai mod. They still do their jobs, but without travel engines they are far lesser to react to situations (eg. enemy attacks of stations, ships.). So planning fleets, station and ship defence is more needed. I had a situation where a transport was attacked, no change to intervene. Same for an attack on a station. (Btw. with good station defences its no problem...).
So, if you are using it with a vanilla sector/universe, you may not feel this much impact (as described). But when using it with a mod for larger sectors it realy impacts a lot - and it makes you feel it like a different game where you need to plan more and use a strategic approch. Like more defence stations and a convoi like trading. Also you will need a lot of more time to build up a economy for yourself.
While I'll never personally use this mod I'd like to see an updated version that removes boosting from all drives, it prevents NPC's from being stupid and depleting their shields in a vain attempt trying to escape.

EDIT: Also 'Galaxy Remake STARS plus XRSGE' looks similar.
Just my humble opinion.
