    Your Ring Space mod is awesome ;)
    It would be perfect if: 1) -you add light inside this sector to look more welcome for other races. No need sun but only more colours inside, like in The Expanse. 2) -you take care to not cut original game gates connections. Its important for everyone too keap clean the game if you look just to add new connections with the Ring Space it would be nice.

    The absolute blackness in the Ring Space was really great! So abysmal black!

    If there's anyone out there rebuilding The Expanse as a mod, with all the ships, then they should include your Ring Space!

    Since I have no idea about modding, I don't know how much work actually goes into your project.
    But I have an idea that I would like to explain to you. Maybe you like her.

    How about giving each faction, the Terran, the 4 Split, the Paranid and so on, all just one gate?
    They would all have to fly through your ring space. Also the xenons. Of course not together. Xenon would get 8 gates like the sectors are already distributed.
    One could disable the two Terran Gates and recreate only one in Oort Cloud. Yes, you have to fly through all sectors to get to Mercury, but that's what it's all about ;)
    Only connect Segaris to the ring space with a gate. Just like all other factions.

    The Borons shouldn't be tied to the Ring Space because of the story! Or is that possible???

      Thank you. I don't intend to make this perfect. I hope at some point someone comes along that wants to contribute. I really just made this mod for myself, while trying to keep it plot- and mod-friendly. At the moment I'm honestly just playing with the mod myself and having a great time. :D

      I would love an alternate version that cuts all gate connections and leaves only a ring space gate in each system. This would also let you use alot more of those in-active gates. It would also be closer to The Expanse content.

      I understand, this was one of my first ideas as well, but it practically makes any wars useless, as they can't conquer systems over neutral territory. It's why I left it clustered and also kept some of the more important gate connections as they are. I think for the full "The Expanse" experience there needs to be a new mod that makes a completely new universe with their own factions, clusters, ships, etc, and I just made this mod for fun.

      Obviously if someone ever wants to make that kind of mod I'd be happy to provide my Ring Space code to generate the "Slow Zone" sector :)

      The ship variation expansion has a Terran ship L ship called the Claymore Heavy Gunship. It's basically the Tachi/Rocinante with 12 M turrets, 1M launcher, and 1 L Railgun turret.

      Handles, shoots, and wrecks stuff just like the show, very fun to roleplay.

      Eh, I think he was talking about the hardpoints. Having a group of modders work together making all the Expanse ships and ring systems would be pretty sweet.... But looking at all the work the Star Wars team has to do definitely shows this isn't easy.

      You're in luck. I've seen screenshots of the Roci on the Egosoft discord server. Work's ongoing and I hope till then more people want to help out with this mod by adding Expanse-specific new sectors :)

      The claymore in the mod I'm talking about it basically a long gunship with a bunch of M turrets, spots for missiles, one large turret slot for a railgun, and one giant ass engine on the back.

      Have YOU seen the expanse, because I just described the Rocinante? lol...

    I started the game as the Segaris Pioneers. And when I entered the space of the Ring from the Gaian Prophecy system, there was already a protective station of the Segaris Pioneers))))

    I was expecting this mod to completely obliterate the  economy. It doesn't. It just provides route alternatives to traders/fleets. It also creates a massive choke point to attempt to defend.

    After 5 days of running it, there are still galactic shortages of wares and there are many traders not using ring space to complete routes.

    It would be nice for you to release a version that doesn't restrict NPC station building/claiming of "Ring space". The factions trying to fill up the space with infrastructure or the threat of the Xenon turning it into a massive staging point are really exciting. It can't really happen now, even though all factions do USE the ring space.

    I'm excited for the ring station/blue light. The darkness is neat, but it doesn't feel quite like the expanse's ring space ATM.

    VERY fun mod, please keep up the great work!

      Lucky you! I've been wanting this from the start but was afraid of the economic problems arising from this.

      See the latest 2.0 changelog. I didn't do the whole station thing though. I may need to contact another modder for this. For the skybox as well. I am not a graphically talented person.

      Thank you for the encouraging words. I made this mod mostly for myself and I'm happy people are enjoying it!

    Is this an April Fool's joke?  The date of upload looks fishy, and I don't see any other posters - and yet there are 32 downloads. If it isn't a joke, then this is a really great concept and will potentially make it easy to get around the map, once you map the portals in the ring space to sectors. Although how would I track which sector each portal in ring space goes to because I don't think you can annotate the X4 map can we?  I would be concerned about how the Xenon react to it?  I'd think they would be like Duarte and the Laconians and any game would soon be overrun by Xenons.

      First of, I knew the release date would look funny to some. Just a coincidence.

      Currently, there's 12 gates connected to various sectors in the "normal" galaxy.

      I specifically do not define which gate goes where, as those may change at any time. This is, for example when the Boron DLC comes out, so that I can keep distributing them evenly inside Ring Space.

      And lastly, I purposefully have no gate connect close to a Xenon sector. On gamestart there should always at least one sector be between a gate to Ring Space and a Xenon sector. This buffer, of course, can be overrun by them, which then means the Xenon might enter Ring Space. But, hopefully, by that time enough factions have noticed that Ring Space is a valuable asset to not let fall under their control. :)
