i aways loved the drifter battleships (also hate them as when i started playing EVE i tried soloing one that was damaged and i lost spectacularly) vant wait for it
You can do the stuff in 3DS Max as well. It can export and import DAE files too. (you'll need the XRConvertersMain.exe to convert DAE to/from X4 format). I, myself, am modeling in SketchUp (!!! now scream !!!), and it works good (I do the exporting in 3DS, then assemble the model, the export, and works). Though if you model for X4, you'l lhave to set up a specific structure (hierarchy) in the modeling program for the different model parts. You should import a vanilla ship model (L/XL ships) to see that structure. Or, optionally, you could ask someone at the Star Wars Interworlds forum for help, or see the Egosoft forum. But don't ask me, ok?

Basically, even if you somehow win and defeat one.. you still lose.
