Hello all! I know it has been a bit of a wait between 1.5 and now but that isn't without good reason! We're confident in saying that 1.6 is our largest single update featuring a ton of various stuff. On top of having new assets we've also taken the time to rework how the VRO Viper and Kitsune work - they are now proper M7Ms on par with the new OTAS Aquilo. There has also been a host of changes to the galaxy map and several balances changes have been made to improve the lives of both Boron and Paranid.

X4: Reemergence 1.6 released:

  • X4:RE custom main menu theme added. Set it in Game Settings -> Start Menu background Scene -> X4:Reemergence
assets & balancing:
  • Racial Drones! ⁠Terran Keris, Split Skink, Paranid Cupid, and a mysterious new Xenon craft. Each drone has different weapons to better meet different roles. Additional drones will be coming in the future. The default drone has been renamed "Standard Defence Drone" and is available across all factions as a cheep, low tech option.
  • Missile Frigates rework! Reworked VRO Kitsune and Viper to function correctly as missile frigates. Ship type description & support thread in ⁠faq⁠
  • Fixed Astraeus shipgroup; AI will now properly use them
  • Doubled the crew capacity of Cheetah


Map balancing:
  • Added new gate connection between Silent Witness XII and Eleventh Hour to improve Argon unity. Be wary of pirates lurking along the new trade route
  • Removed Matrix #695 and replaced it with neutral sector: Tebathimanckatt's Legacy. This will increase border conflicts between PAR and HOP, as well as reduce Xenon presence in the area (compatible with existing saves)
  • Disabled the shipyard in Matrix #472D and disabled the sector's System Analyst Battleship job to better balance the Xenon threat against the Boron/Split colonies
  • Disabled faction logic from Ocracoke's Storm and Shadows of Giants to keep the Xenon from Scale Plate Green from invading into them. This is an additional balancing measure
  • Adjusted Xenon Shipyard & Wharf values to reflect map changes
  • Removed Boron from Shore of Infinity (new saves only)
  • Removed Xenon from Depths of Silence and added Kha'ak. The Boron should breathe easier now (new saves only)
  • Correctly updated Boron/Split Colonies god files to reflect ownership change to Free Families



Factions:
  • Migrated the last non-asset OTAS files to RE for much better compatibility
  • Added population to Legend's Home Alpha and Beta
  • Rewrote OTAS faction scripts to fix unsolved errors
  • Corrected job error with new VIG "Raider" jobs. They now properly sail the high seas
  • Disabled RE's economy-boosting stations for Borons and Free Families. This is handled by new DA God (new saves only)
  • Further refined and updated Reclaimer script and jobs so they no longer respawn after loading a save
  • Adjusted System Analysts jobs to perform better and be built/rebuilt more efficiently
and numerous bug fixes reported via the game's debug log
