OVERVIEW
Modular tweaks to the game's madness system.

  • Prevent the Inner Demon from spawning after dying at full madness.
  • Disable madness accumulation from each death (will still gain one (1) for each human killed).
  • Disable the Fury status effect (the combined damage buff/debuff you receive at 90% madness).
  • Make the Fury status effect require no madness (effectively permanent).
Combined options are also available; only keep one version installed at a time.

As these systems have gameplay benefits (i.e., increased damage dealt & skill perks with high madness / item rewards for defeating the Inner Demon), these components are intended more as temporary quality-of-life mods to enable if you're struggling with some part of the game and don't want to deal with these mechanics while doing so. They can be enabled/disabled at any time (or left installed, if you just don't like these systems for whatever reason). These mods have no impact on the various skill perks gained at 50% madness.

Note: if you install the disabled Fury buff/debuff mod while already having the status effect, you will still have it until you reduce your madness level below the 90% threshold. For the always enabled Fury buff/debuff mod, you will need to rest/teleport at a shrine anytime after you've lowered your madness from >= 90% (via any method) to retrigger the effect.

Requires Wuchang Mod Enabler.
Fully compatible with my mods Improved Sprinting and Skip Intro Logos.
Not compatible with my mod No Fall Damage - install a combined version (see this mod's optional files) instead.

INSTALLATION [Steam]
  • install Wuchang Mod Enabler
  • download mod from the files tab
  • create a ~mods folder in your local game directory's Paks folder
    - if using Steam, this path can be found by right-clicking the game and selecting "Manage" "Browse local files"
    - i.e., ".../steamapps/common/Wuchang Fallen Feathers/Project_Plague/Content/Paks/~mods"
  • extract the .pak file to the ~mods folder
To uninstall, simply delete the .pak file from the ~mods folder. Only install one version at a time.

INSTALLATION [Game Pass]
There are additional and slightly modified installation steps involved to make mods work properly with Game Pass.
Mods will not work if you use the Steam installation instructions.

  • install Microsoft Store version of Wuchang Mod Enabler
  • download mod from the files tab
  • go to your local game directory's Paks folder, i.e., ".../XboxGames/Wuchang PCGP/Content/Project_Plague/Content/Paks"
  • extract the .pak file directly there (without a ~mods folder)
  • rename .pak file to follow the pattern of file names in the folder
Example: if you have "Project_Plague-WinGDK_3_P", rename this mod to "Project_Plague-WinGDK_4_P" or any number higher than the ones already in there. The higher the number, the higher the load order priority (in case you want one mod to overwrite the other).

To uninstall, simply delete the mod's .pak file from the Paks folder. Only install one version at a time.
