After a few very long nights of modding The Witcher 3, and almost finishing, accidentally bumped something on The Witcher Script Merger, and purged all of my carefully set as I went load order priorities. Gonna take me many hours to figure it all out from the long list, may even have to backtrack through all the mod pages on nexus. Big sads!
Hum... you don't have to set priority to all mods. It is not recommended. The game handle priority by alphabetical order, which is the case for this compatible patch.
You only need to assign priority if, and only if, the default load order is wrong.
Well i did it anyway for all the mods that show up in script merger, and redid my merges and now the game wont even get to the script compiling, just crashes immediately. Game ran smooth before I accidentally purged my original priorities. other than the odd crash on loading the saves to test out if my mods worked as i went.
I left gaps in my priorities, to make it easier, could those gaps be confusing the game? Ex 1, 3, 6 etc. backed up my mod settings, Gonna try wiping my mod settings and launching the game see if it launches. if that's the case i will renumber everything to 0, 1, 2, 3 etc. Also should I leave the bundled text unmerged?
It's because you put priority to all mods that crash the game. That's what I say in my previous comment, don't put priority when you don't have to. If the default alphabetical order is correct, then don't put priority. Ignore those red colours, it's not a warning. And don't put very low number, I recommend step by step like 10, 20, 30,...
Always merge all scripts and all Bundled Text, for the latter, check in the instruction if they say, "don't merge".
Thank you! I've been struggling to understand this whole priority thing, things were much easier last time i played and modded, before the next gen released. And yeah i see basically not to merge brothers in arms, the essential weapon rework and the scabbard clipping fixes.
Rename "Mods" into "~~Mods", this will disable all mods. If the crash is gone, then take screenshot of your Mods folder. If you have over hundred mods installed, remove of few of them, it's probably mod limit.
Yeah same dif, it launched with that renaming! I don't know how to attach an image to nexus comment but my mods folder has 251 folders inside aka 251 mods. I did add a bunch more that I had missed when i was redoing priorities. What is the hard limit and workaround? All my mods are manual install, but I did install a mod limit patcher with vortex, that must not be installed correctly.
Okay. The problem was you reach the mod limit. You have too many mods. So keep that current mod list and don't add any more (except some bug fixing mods, or their update).
Thanks again! Used to Skyrim modding more where U can install thousands of mods more. Never had limit issues with Cyberpunk either. Definitely worried about The Witcher 4, Red Engine overall is pretty mod friendly, Unreal Engine not so much. Not even to mention I have a GTX 2070 super still, and it absolutely hates UE5. can't even run Oblivion Remastered in a playable state. Hopefully I can upgrade my card by then, but times be tough. Witcher Next Gen runs beautifullly though! How concerned are you about TW4 being on Unreal 5? I'm so happy Cirilla is protagonist, I expected it to be her in the next game right from the first time I beat TW3 in late May 2015.
Good evening, I'm trying to access Brothers in Arms Discord server but I'm unable, expired link, do you know how I could get the classic BiA-HDRP patch, or where I could find it for versions 1.31 or 1.32?
Unmergeable conflict is normal. Script Merger can't merge everything and the only way to deal their conflict is by checking if their default alphabetical order is correct. Which bring another instruction, don't put priority to the compatible patch, it is by default higher priority. Delete the file "mods.settings" from Document/The Witcher 3. You should assign priority number if, and only if, their default load order is wrong. Also, ignore the "red" colour, it is not a warning...
Hi there. im getting these errors when trying to load up the game:
Error [modbrothersinarms]local\bia_versioning.ws(86): 'BIA_VersioningManager' is not a member of '&handle:CPlayerInput' Error [modbrothersinarms]local\bia_versioning.ws(88): 'BIA_VersioningManager' is not a member of '&handle:CPlayerInput' Error [modbrothersinarms]local\bia_versioning.ws(90): 'BIA_VersioningManager' is not a member of '&handle:CPlayerInput' Error [modbrothersinarms]game\player\playerwitcher.ws(11786): Could not find function 'SetRadialPotionUpperTimer' Error [modbrothersinarms]game\player\playerwitcher.ws(11792): Could not find function 'SetRadialPotionLowerTimer'
plz help ;(
Edit: i am stpuid and forgot to put my game directory into script merger lol. Have solved conflicts but still getting this error:
Error [mod0000_mergedfiles]game\player\playerwitcher.ws(11786): Could not find function 'SetRadialPotionUpperTimer' Error [mod0000_mergedfiles]game\player\playerwitcher.ws(11792): Could not find function 'SetRadialPotionLowerTimer'
You're using an outdated mod on Next Gen 4.04. Make sure each mod confirm to work on 4.04 in the description or mod files. Or was updated since 19th July 2023. By the way, the compatible patch have no scripts, so please don't say you have a scripts problem when the problem isn't from THAT mod.
I have a question. Is it normal to see red in the non-mergable portion like this? I did set mod000000aHDRP_Bia to a priority so it would be after BIA but before modHDReworkedProject, but the others have no priority set. Should I be setting something to get rid of the red? I see some similar posts, but I am not sure if they answered my question. I need to set some priorities based on install instructions, like with W3EE Redux and Brothers in Arms, so simply not having any mods set to priority won't work for me. If I clear the priorities for those two, everything is red.
You actually don't have to assign priority, even on W3EE-BIA patch. The game handle priority by alphabetical order, their load order is already correct. Red doesn't mean "warning" in that case, it means it will use the default alphabetical load order. That's why I didn't instruct "put BiA-HDRP higher priority" because it is already higher priority.
Hi elementarylewis, pardon me, if my question is too obvious to you or out of your hand one. cuz some of the questions and prblms that im gonna ask are combined with compatible patch also. plus English is not my first language and it's been a while since i restarted witcher 3 with mods again so.
So i installed the next gen bia, bia(lod) and the compatibility patch for hd rework and please tell me, if i need to fix those red lines into purple in the pictures by putting priority between em, should i just leave it be(as red), or should i delete some of the mods(lfss, hqface, 4kr) in the pics to pursue bia mod completely btw the priority on those mods are lfss= no prior, hqface=2, 4kr= 1, bia, lod, hdrp_bia = no prior and there was no crashing after i installed bia etc and played the game
and mainly im posting this cuz i was thinking mod doesnt work cause i tried to check if there is any changes between before and after installationby checking Toussaint house book shelf like the images from the classic bia mod homage showed and it wasnt filled with books and bia mod shows and fixes it by making bookshelf full of books so i was confused if i could believe that the mod was successfully working or some parts were missing
please let me know if this is out of your hand and i should ask to the bia mod dev or if there is anything you need to know more it will be glad for me if there is anything i get to know from your answer, literally anything
Let me relieve your worry. Red doesn't mean "warning" in that context. The game handle priority by alphabetical order (numbers, symbol, letters) so you don't have to assign priority to all mods, nor where their default load order is already correct.
So I suggest you delete "mods.settings" from Document/The Witcher 3. And assign priority only if their default load order is wrong, for example you have "modBrothersInArms" and "modProgressOnThePath", the latter should have higher priority so you put a number. Additionally, it is not recommended to assign low and same number on duplicated number. I advise you put step by step like 10, 20, 30, etc...
By the way, remove modstlmnge, it's the worst lighting mod. I recommend either Better Vanilla Lighting or Promotional Atmospheric Lighting. And remove HQFace. It is not Next Gen Compatible.
thank you lewis while i was waiting the answers, i tried to find out on my own by testing game and finding specific scene and dialogue that is affected by bia mod which i found later on. so i tested without the mod, also with on and evn putting priority, cross checking and then i figured out that the mod was working well whatever i put priority or not, also evn leaving it as red like you said haha now with what you said, you completely ease my worries by indicating em again thx
thanks again and i was about to say that i was gonna try to change stlm into better vanilla lighting after bia and some mods firstly done cuz i saw you recommended on the other post and also i personally favored it among the other lightings so thanks again stlm really blinded me almost haha, thx for your time
Hi lewis, one question, this is correct like this? I have a problem and it is that the textures take me a while to load and they seem blurry for seconds, now I have put it like this to see.I have a problem and it is that the textures take me a while to load and they seem blurry for seconds, now I have put it like this to see. I don't know if I installed well brother in arms. Let me know.
Having conflict doesn't mean they don't work. It simply means one mod will overwrite the other to the specific files. Which Is normal. Mods conflict each other and it's thanks to Script Merger we can merge them or assign priority. But because both mods are very essentials, I made this compatible patch, so you get the benefit of both mods.
What happen if you don't use is you won't either BiA fixes or HDRP high quality. And "the game runs fine" doesn't mean you're safe. Sometimes if the mod is badly made, outdated, not Next Gen Compatible, or in your case, not dealing their conflict... you'll met unexpected problem in the game.

Script Merger reads 251 mods, 525 scripts, 0 XML's and 227 bundles.

Thank you for your incredible work
I would like to know if it is normal to have 484 unmergeable conflicts between this mod, brother in arms and hd reworked project ?
If it is normal, then i can just ignore it and continue installing other mods correct?
If it is not normal, could you try to help me figure out what i am doing wrong and a possible solution.
Note: this mod patch has the highest priority and i am playing the game on steam with the latest update.

I'll definitely read it.
I tested it, and everything really seems to be working normally.
Thanks a lot!

What happens if i dont use this patch?
I also use W3ee Redux. But for that i use the BIA W3ee redux patch and merged them correctly.
But the game runs fine so far.
What make you think they don't work? Do you get a problem in game?

The game launched fine so it works probably.
Is there a way to make sure it works as intended?
But for testing HDRP, you can try MOD TESTER - HD Rework Project.
Not even a single merge conflict.
Perfect!
