If you have other mods installed that won't be enough. You NEED to use Script Merger to merge script files and/or bundle files. That's how modding works in Witcher 3.
I used QuickBMS to unpack a .bundle file, but when I modified the XML and tried to repack it, I got an error about inconsistent file sizes preventing repacking. I removed some non-essential characters, which allowed repacking, but now the sword in-game has lost its functionality. I'm stuck and don't know how to fix this. Could you help me?
you can use xTcModkit for quick unpacking of mods. that one is easy to use. Just follow the instructions on the program UI, then drag and drop the mod onto the uncook button. And when you're done, drag and drop the edited folder onto the cook button. And should be done.
Thank you so much! I'll try it out right away. By the way, I'm planning to provide zh version translations for gear descriptions. Maybe you could also let me know how to create w3strings files myself, so I can add descriptions to my own modded version as well.
There is indeed a zh strings pack, but as a Chinese user verifying the context, I'm certain it's erroneous — it's strictly the vanilla version's description, not your mod's implementation.Additionally, I tried uncooking the .bundle file, made my edits, and repacked it, but all modified values reverted to zero. Any idea why this happens? Also, how can I restore the sword to Relic status in the AIO version? :D
What made me appreciate your mod was the fact it turned Aerondight from relic to Witcher gear my question is this: is it possible to use the " Buffs only" files, and exclude the lifesteal perk?
Techinically yes. The Lifesteal perk relies on a script to function. So if you delete that script file, Life steal won't work at all. It will still show up on the weapon, but it won't actually do anything. If you're OK with that, just delete the r4player.ws and you're good to go.
The silver shininess you can get from LfSS mod. Lorefriendly Silver Swords mod. It'll change the mesh quality of Aerondight to be more silvery just like what my mod does. and you can download the Runes only version and you're good to go. :)
Yes it is, but not with this mod. Download this mod to achieve what you want: Silver Sword for Specters. You can modify the silver sword dmg and steel sword dmg to achieve your desired effect. And this one to make Steel Swords usable on Monsters: Steel is All You Need - Next Gen. Works perfectly with the other mod I just linked.
I combined their True Aerondight - Mechanics AIO and Griffin Set Aerondight they work great together, who wants to try it here is the link https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/9035?tab=files#:~:text=Griffin%20Set%20Aerondight
t0mteee 03 August 2024, 3:56PM Looks great! Is it compatible with 1.32? Zowbaid 03 August 2024, 4:28PM The Visual pack, yes. The Buff Stats Only, yes. The Ability Rework, no.
14 September 2024, 11:52AM The visual stuff, yes. The Reworked Ability Only, yes. The other stuff no.
I remember the initial Buffed Only worked with 1.3, but the next updates must've changed it. But still, I tested Buffed Only last month after I removed the NG aerondight.ws, and the new stats showed correctly in the inventory.
That's cuz the old version had a missing file that was needed to make the Life Steal ability work, which makes it incompatible with 1.32. It also has a local file that is incompatible with older versions of the game. If you delete both script files then you can make it work. But it just means that the Life Steal perk would be a dead perk. And it won't apply its witcher bonus to other set pieces. So you lose out on those 2 functions.
I understand, but I still keep my stance that I shared in a conversation with you, that the Life Steal makes it too easy, so the stats only are fine with me. Thank you for an explanation.
I really wanted the buffed stats, so I made a version for 1.32: I removed the scripts and removed the lifesteal stat from Aerondight. It'll no longer be part of all witcher sets but at least now it won't be trying to give a perk that doesn't exist. If Zow would want to host it as an optional file I can send it over

should've asked this before, my apologies
Also, can you link the mod you're referencing?
I'm referring to the ability part
