Hi everyone! This new mod builds on top of the original Darker Nights by shaedhen and mandelbrot. I was maintaining it on the Darker Nights - Next Gen page, but it has grown enough to need its own separate page.
I am aware that the enhanced version, as does the original one, still has issues. I am actively working on the mod, but it will take time to be fully finished. I plan to rewrite the mod, and I will use as much functionality as the new redkit gives me.
What, if any, lighting mod do you have for Toussaint? I use Filterless Toussaint by ScoutBro & it looks great with DNE Using Better Vanilla Lighting Changes for the rest of the game. Pairs really well with DNE IMO
I had no lighting mod, but noticed the darker nights mod affect toussaint lighting in an ugly way. Maybe this mod ought to be use with a lighting mod then?
I am attempting to use this mod with Enhanced Edition Redux and BIA (sucessfully merged). I had been running Darker Nights Enhanced a week ago and then had to reinstall. After doing so and merging the files I'm not getting any script compilation errors but none of the sliders in Darker Nights do anything and the lighting is vanilla.
Any advice on what I might check here to get the mod working properly again?
No idea, as I don't use large "overhaul" mods like W3EE. I can tell you that I can't even count the # of posts with compatibility issues with overhauls such as that all over witcher Nexus.

At least initial use seems good. I also use Better Torches NextGen, W3ee Redux Enhanced, Stars on Night Sky, HD Reworked, Tweaks, & Brother in Arms, and a few other mods. Had to do 1 manual merge w/ W3EE and this mod. I told it to use B (Darker Nights)since W3EE did not have the line of code. Endorsed, and thank you for making this and keeping it up to date!
Mod was working fine until I remerged, now I get errors. I even deleted all other mods and just ran this one (and shared imports) on its own, still no luck. Once I delete this mod, everything works fine. No game changes between working and not. I also deleted my content folder and verified files to get fresh vanilla but no luck on that either. From what I observed, the problem is that CheckDayNightCycle is normally a private function but part of the smooth transition patch is that he redeclared it as public, and for some reason it's not taking. Any help is appreciated because I love this mod.

That's odd indeed. I'm sure you are on the latest game version too? Since you are rebuilding, wonder if MergeInventory.xml (on mobile and can't look at exact file name) in script merger became corrupt for the mod. I had that happen years back with a mod on 1.32
Other than that working fine here, but I haven't remerged yet. Maybe the author can shed some light, as I am not a coder ;)
Hey there... By default, the global & regionals are set to 70, which is too dark in White Orchard for me. I disable global in the menu and set darkness by region, but I don't alter time of day settings (some game engines seem to not like that too much) Other than that, mine works just fine. What lighting mods if any are you using?
Oh my, I feel a bit foolish. Works fine after going into the menu and setting to default, and then configuring to my preference. Thank you for the mod!
Glad you got it ;) I use this and this as well (menu only from the first link..and you can adjust your current .xml from this mod with his "region" here: <Group id="DNNovigrad" displayName="Mods.visuals_and_graphics.darker_nights.region.novigrad">for each region. Looks good in the menu!
Very nice mod, it gives the right atmosphere to nights now! However I have a question, when I use your mod it seems the nightsky gets dark too. Like there are nearly no stars to be seen, no shooting stars either. Is this intentionally from your mod?
I have stars in my build. Try a manual save, exit game, reload & see if it clears. There are very few cutscenes that the author is aware of that still have some issues.
