Content of the mod:

This mod provides you with high quality billboards to all vegetation assets of the game.
Each asset now has its own 1024x1024 billboard texture instead of sharing it with multiple assets.
The mod may have an impact on performances, but I didn't notice any.

Installation:

Simply unzip the file and copy paste the directory modVegetationBillboardsRemastered to the Mods folder located in your game installation.

Conflicts:

Should conflict with any mod editing .srt files using billboards. Knowing I'm the only one working with SpeedTree stuff, you should not have any problem with other mods.
Should conflict with Uber LOD - Trees and Vegetation, but using this mod and mine together would be kinda unnecessary anyway since the former removes the need for billboards as far as I am aware.

This mod is made using next gen assets. Some of these next gen assets have a different UV maps compared to the old gen ones. On top of that, for my custom billboards, I created custom UV maps along with my custom textures. The consequences are:
- The mod can't work on old gen, unless you use next gen assets with updated UV maps and textures in your game.
- The mod could work with UHD Oaks Redux  but since this mod relies on old gen assets with their old gen UV maps, you may expect UV mapping issues.
- Using simple billboard texture mods such as HD Tree LOD Billboards won't have any effect. My mod will overwrite the textures as well as the texture paths and UV maps in the meshes.

What's next:

I have been sitting on that work for almost a year because I don't consider my billboards to even be on par with vanilla in some instances. Hence why I will return and rework my billboard generator framework when EEVEE Next will be officially released for Blender 4.2. This, combined with some other adjustments to the existing generator I developed should provide even nicer results. But since it may take a while to come back to it, I decided to finally publish that work in its current state.
