I finished the game and HoS quest simply doesn't pop up in the journal. I uninstalled it and even loaded a save before Tedd Deiradh but it still doesn't work. I've no idee what I'm doing wrong so if anybody has a fact command to help I would be grateful. Thanks.
With that dlc installed I managed to load that quicksave and addfact(witcher3_game_finished) doesn't seem to work for it while it does on my own saves.
Well as soon as I load that save the Blood and Wine quest gets added to the journal. I assume you were using Delayed BnW? When I run the addfact(witcher3_game_finished) command the horse race quest gets updated. Any mod that messes with that race quest? Do you happen to have a save from the vizima palace right before you reach Velen for the first time? In vanilla you unlock HoS as soon as you reach Velen for the first time.
Reporting two problems I had with this mod, days ago. First, some HoS points of interest are enabled on the map in the northeast part of Novigrad, right at the top of the map. When I go to do them, I reach the edge of the map, as it is probably the DLC that should enable these points. Another thing: I arrived at the Oxenfurt inkeeper and the toad gwent card that was supposed to be won from Olgiert in the DLC was on the table. The mod should disable everything related to the HoS DLC, but apparently a lot of things are still active. In the end, I ended up deactivating the mod because of this.
From what I saw, you still have the old version of this mod. The new version fixes those issues. But I wouldn't advise you travel on HoS areas because certain side-quest don't actually trigger if you don't have the HoS questline activated so you'll end up with missing entries on your journal. Other than that, there shouldn't be any other issues on your game.
Thanks for the answer, friend. In fact I tested it with the previous version of the mod. When starting a new save I test this last one again to see if the problems have been corrected.
Thanks to MerseyRockoff, who actually managed to do it, this version addresses all the issues that the original mod had.
It removes the fires from the house at Alness, the corpse with the spoon from the tavern and whatever other layers were supposed to be hidden in the expansion.
Behavior should be the same as the original mod, meaning that if you go into any HoS area, unless you have unlocked the HoS questline, you should avoid roaming around any HoS locations. HoS side quests don't launch at all if you haven't unlocked the questline and this will most likely lead to a lot of issues within your HoS playthrough. Random points of interest that aren't tied to any quests should be fine to do though (but I can't say for sure).
I haven't tested it thoroughly, so I can't say for sure how it affects things in the long run, but it should probably be safe to use as long as you avoid any HoS areas.
This is retroactive, meaning that it can be used during your current playthrough.
I'm not sure I understand the question. In vanilla TW3 you can do HoS as soon as you reach Velen, you get a big popup and journal entry for it once the hangman tree arrival cinematic finishes.
If I may request, could you make an optional files where we can begins Hearts of Stone before the ending, please? I let you choose: - after the battle of Kaer Morhen - before the battle of Kaer Morhen - After the Baron's Quest
Don't know which point would be most appropriate then, would have to think about it, and given the open ended nature of the main quest it would likely be best to allow for multiple possible/OR start conditions. Off the top of my head: - When as part of the main quest you have to pay 1000 crowns for a boat ride to skellige - you'd be trying to make some money with witcher's work/witcher contracts which HoS starts off as. - After a certain point in the novigrad main quest story questline you've found/"unlocked" a friend who can later give you some help/insight into the events of HoS. - After you've finished your main quest business in Velen and the next step would be to reach to novigrad (so you might stumble upon the start of hos in the outskirts of novigrad when coming up from velen).
None of which are a perfect fit. - The player will likely already have $1k+ on hand when he wants to go to skellige. - If you keep following the novigrad friend questline that friend will likely soon vanish from the game anyway, possibly before you choose to take on HoS so they won't be able to contribute to it in any way and other friends who might contribute to HoS might also not be available at the time. - There's more main quest business in Velen than just the baron quest, and the baron does give you a pass to go to novigrad / oxen well before his own business is "finished". In fact the end of the baron questline is a timed side quest that only fails at a much later stage in the main quest.
Yeah. After discussion with many people, starting HoS after the ending is the optimal way, unless we're using scaling mod so we start right after finish the Velen part. So we have the choice of using the mod if planning to do after the main quest, or start the DLC whenever we want.
if you don't spare olgierd and agree to accept the gift from Odimm at the end of hearts and stone, isn't one of offers to ask where ciri is? implying you have not found her yet/finished main quest. I also think the idea would be to complete this local "side quest" en route to novigrad. you also get to explore virtually all of velen before departing it.
I almost wish there wasnt the constant idea of pressure to find ciri until slighlty later in the game. i feel like when im doing a witcher contract or the entire HoS quest im letting ciri suffer as she waits lol
BnW also had dialog etc bits to account for whether you've done the main quest or not, and whether hos was done, doesn't mean it vibes well.
"I almost wish there wasnt the constant idea of pressure to find ciri until slighlty later in the game. i feel like when im doing a witcher contract or the entire HoS quest im letting ciri suffer as she waits lol"
Well that's what the final mod I need to make is for - and what these 2 dlc delaying mods were in preparation for - learning what it would take to make a mod that delays all the completely independent side quests until the main quest is done. Probably going to need the upcoming redkit for it though given the amount of work it would be to implement with the currently available tools.
This one got released early, warts and all, as it also prevents you from having early access to the master smith/master armorer runewright, which is has a strong impact on my intended gear progression.
Would it be possible for this mod to have a menu with a slider to turn it off during a game? I think it would be a good idea to be able to activate the Hearts of Stone (HoS) missions whenever one wants, especially since it’s feasible to start the DLC before completing the main mission, whether or not scaling mods are used. Additionally, uninstalling mods mid-game can corrupt save files.
Not in this case, this mod works retroactively regardless of your progress, the moment you uninstall the mod mid-playthrough the HoS questline will actually start like normal.
so i have just arrived at the oxenfurt inn in new game for the 1st time and there is the spoon killed npc on the ground way before the events of HoS. Is this supposed to be feature or bug?
I'd like to. As soon as you unlock HoS the corpse and also the nearby note for Olgierd vanish, leaving same as vanilla. Please let me know if you spot anything else so I can try to fix them when I get back to it.
Delaying the start of the DLCs so that there is a chronological order is the most consistent and logical thing in the world. These mods are definitely added to my list of bug fixes and endorsed
This is fantastic. Now I can visit that noticeboard without triggering the inital HOS cutscene inadvertently. I see the version number is 4.04, but is their any chance this will still work with 1.32? Unfortunately I'm already in Novigrad now so the HOS questline has been triggered already - othrwise I'd love to test it out myself

I tried loading different saves and it's all still missing..
here you go
Testing it out again with a normal save in a few minutes.
this is the mod
Going to try with that dlc mod added next.
Can you share your save from before Tedd Deiradh?

where i can play heart of ston earlier ?
directly after velen
like your other mod
I let you choose:
- after the battle of Kaer Morhen

So we have the choice of using the mod if planning to do after the main quest, or start the DLC whenever we want.
Another choice could possibly be after rescuing Dandelion. That's where making money for a boat to Skellige part comes in.

In Alness village there is burning house(one Casimir Bassi sets on fire during HoS)
Edit: Does this mod need a fresh game?
