this mod just unnecessarily wastes people's time and slows down combat, it's Witcher not dark souls, he's a witcher not a normal human to get slightly tired after any and all trivial action. other soulslike combat mod is the best.
Yes but this mod is for ppl who are bat s#*! bored of w3 combat. I stopped playing because the combat in w3 is super easy once your geralt is lvl10. I couldnt bear it and stopped playing w3 all together many years ago.
Maybe you could add a lite version with 50% of the stamina costs. I tried to tweak the numbers in the scripts but couldnt figure it out. Still WAY better than the vanilla combat though!!
If you want I can upload a seperate version where all stamina cost are cut in half or you can do it yourself:
For that you need the newest version of Wolvenkit. Then open the blob0.bundle file found in your "modSoulslikeCombatNextGen" folder in Wolvenkit. It contains three .xml files. You can edit these directly in Wolvenkit or (what I prefer) use Notepad++ to open the .xml files. After you edited the stamina values to your liking go back to Wolvenkit and pack the unbundled .xml files into a .bundle file again. Put the new blob0.bundle into your "modSoulslikeCombatNextGen" folder (replace the old .bundle file) Merge your scripts again and launch the game.
Can you tell me which code to modify?, I tried to change (dodge_stamina_cost) from 3 to 1 in (geralt_stats. XML), but after entering the game, all actions in combat no longer consume stamina, and stamina cannot be restored after using spells. Very strange
It should be working in 4.04 because the files edited by this mod did not change in 4.04. But I haven't tested it myself (I'm waiting for some mods in my modlist to update).
Scripts doesn't seem to have changed, but I've noticed some core lines are different for some reason. Probably just messy coding:
- I've noticed one typo that breaks a function. - There's this section that I can't figure out if it was added by this mod or otherwise, since it's not commented:

- And even more uncommented changes that I'm pretty sure are just typos:

I can fix the scripts and PM them to you, or you can look into it yourself.
Well, I never noticed these 😂. If you want you can fix it. I'll appreciate it. The uncommented section is definitly added by this mod as it's also in the original "Dark Souls Style Combat" mod.
Another thing I noticed, player.ws seems untouched. CDPR may have added the one changed line during one of the updates, I'm not sure. But it shouldn't be needed anymore
@TheMenxceX Yeah, I noticed that too when updating the mod. It can be safely removed entirely without affecting anything. Pretty sure it was a temporary edit that the author tested before reverting back, and forgetting about it. I left it in because this is BlxckAngel01 decision, not mine.
This mod is quite good if you want a challenge. I do sometimes find myself getting wrecked when being attacked by multiple monsters who attack very quickly and aggressively.
However this could simply be because of the mods I'm running that affect combat, such as Aggressive Enemies and Geralt Level Scales. Aggressive Enemies makes monsters attack more frequently and Geralt Level Scales makes weaker enemies, such as Drowners, Nekkers, and Wolves, stronger than before.
I use Aggressive Enemies myself and it makes the combat a pretty good challenge especially on Death March. I like that it forces you to use everything you have such as oils, potions, signs and bombs ( I never really used bombs before haha). Also Restored Content - Yellow Mutagens is a great addition for a more stamina based combat.
The mod should be called "slow stammina mod" instead of "soulsike combat" because witcher 3 doesn't have the precise movement of souls games and this mod doesn't help either. Making the stammina management slower just makes the combat slower and that's it, it's still just a weak melee combat system.

Makes the combat much better.
Also would be nice for a version with 50% of the current values.

I'll upload it in the next few days.

Good job on the mod though!
