Update 4.4.0 In the previous update Road Following accidently got disabled, this is now fixed. Also a few other bugs were fixed and the code was cleaned up. And lastly, Horse Rearing on demand is now included, by pressing controller L3 or keyboard ALT. The mod works on game update 4.04, but the previous mod version also did.
In case you liked the No Road Following feature, I can recommend my No Road Following mod! :D
Update 4.3.2 Now also support using the Forward button (default: Controller: Left Stick Forward, Keyboard: W) to accelerate, next to the Sprint button. Read Description page under "Additional acceleration options" for more info!
Hi, don't know if you will see this, just wanna ask is it possible to unbind the controller left stick forward key, I only want to use "A" button to control the speed, but left stick forward is too sensitive that everytime I use LEFT/RIGHT key to move it register as FORWARD too, it is frustrated
EDIT: found solution in 1 of the comment below, thanks
I installed it again. When Vortex adds the file to the W3 mods folder, it only said "mods". I opened that folder, copied and pasted the content into the mods folder so the full filename is visible in the mods folder. It works now!
I really hated that how it was impossible to move backwards with my horse, instead of turning to sides as it did before. It does also save keybinds, if you do have a TKL keyboard and want to use as few keys as possible and still control speed on horse.
You really do great mods with this mod and lighting mod among other! Did work to install with W3MM and Script Merger (Fresh and Automated edition v 0.9.6) without issues.
For anybody that are going to change input.settings in Document folder (default storage place for user settings in games on MS Windows), use Notepad++ as it will show you numbers for each line and have tools that are better to search and change large text files like this in mods or input.setting files.
https://notepad-plus-plus.org/downloads/
Use Control+F to open search feature and tick "Match Whole Word Only" with IK_W, if you want to use ESDF instead of WASD to replace W with E as instructed on main page here!
With "Match Whole Word Only" Notepad++ will ONLY search and stop by that part that is identical to "IK_W".
Don't use replace all as that will replace all places where there is IK_W in this document depending on game mode as [Horse] is one of several game modes where input will change depending on game mode (like being in combat, out of combat, playing as Ciri, on Horse, in Quick Inventory or in any other menu open at that time a key or input is made.
Hey there. So it seems like this mod is incompatible with GFP and W3EE redux, is there anyone who could help me with the script merging process?
I get this compilation error message when I try to run the game:
Error [modreduxw3ee]game\vehicles\horse\horsecomponent.ws(94): Could not find function 'GetHorseSpeed' Error [mod0000_mergedfiles]game\vehicles\horse\states\exploration.ws(378): I dont know any 'EET_Mutagen25' Error [mod0000_mergedfiles]game\vehicles\horse\states\exploration.ws(395): I dont know any 'EET_Mutagen25'
This mod conflicts under game\vehicles\horse\states\exploration.ws with GFP and W3EE redux.
Hey, the issues are caused by the merge of game\vehicles\horse\states\exploration.ws. I have to say, W3EE REDUX is not great when it comes to it's installation procedure and merging with other mods. So many files, and it asks you to overwrite a previous installation of W3EE, but still depends on that. Making it pretty difficult for the user in my opinion.
I recommend to ignore the overwrite remark, and install the mods with Vortex instead, and when Vortex reports a conflict between W3EE and W3EE REDUX, select W3EE REDUX to go "after" everything else. That will have the same effect as overwriting.
Anyways, I haven't installed it completely to try if it actually works, but the merge in question has two conflicts, I've posted screenshots here on how to merge those. The rest should auto merge successfully.
The screenshots are in order, make sure to NOT select modW3EE when starting the initial merge, but only modAlternateHorseControls and modReduxW3EE. You can try to include other mods as well, but that's out of scope for this post. Disable the Auto jump to next conflict option like shown in the 4th screenshot. For the first conflict you have to add lines from both mods. Follow the screenshots, two of the screenshots show how the two conflicts should look when you're done.

Let me know if it works. :)
For the merge ....First conflit select B and C lines
For the others select B line
EDIT: Nevermind, had to merge them in a different way. Works now
