It doesn't work. I put it in the DLC folder and activated it in options. During the Wild at Heart quest, when the wolf killed the woman and asked me to kill him, I couldn't get the mutation. I tried both the DLC and MOD folders. What did I do wrong?
Any chance to get a version that also increases some other drop rates on mutagens for more rare monsters? I always reload for the ekimmara in the grotto for example since there are only 3 of them in the game. Some other monsters also have super low drop rates and do not respond like trolls. The idea of saving and reloading isn't fun plus if you are super unlucky and don't get the drop before killing all the monsters they are missable as well.
-Iocaste will now guaranteedly drop basilisk mutagen if killed during "Mutual of Beauclair's Wild Kingdom" quest. -Niellen will now guaranteedly drop werewolf mutagen if killed during "Wild at Heart" quest. -The monsters during "Skellige's Most Wanted" quest will guaranteedly drop their mutagens if killed (troll, doppler and werewolf mutagens, respectively).
Because for the other stuff, if you don't kill the beast you are not supposed to get the mutagen.
now that all your mod is in the dlc file I can't just delete the dlc file like you told me before.
Can you make a version fod the dlc file with just these 3 things:
-Iocaste will now guaranteedly drop basilisk mutagen if killed during "Mutual of Beauclair's Wild Kingdom" quest. -Niellen will now guaranteedly drop werewolf mutagen if killed during "Wild at Heart" quest. -The monsters during "Skellige's Most Wanted" quest will guaranteedly drop their mutagens if killed (troll, doppler and werewolf mutagens, respectively).
Because for the other stuff, if you don't kill the beast you are not supposed to get the mutagen.
You can just not update. The mod is not changed in any way with the new version, besides moving all assets to DLC folder. And I also left the old version available for download.
The 4.04 patch mostly affect scripted mod, using for example "playerwitcher.ws" or "playerinput.ws". If none of the updated script are used by the mod, then it's automatically "Next Gen 4.04 Compatible".
Just a question - does this mod also works retrospectively? As in, will I get the missing mutagens if I install this mod after I already completed the specific quests?
Definitely Your Mod π€ Normal MutaGens Have Textures and Only ,,Your/Monster MutaGens" Don't Have Textures. Did You Took Wrong Name Maybe ? or SomeThing Was Changed in 4.03 Version.
I repeat, this is not this mod as it doesn't edit any icons, just the logic how mutagens are acquired. Your bug report was deleted.
Just for your information, the icon paths are stored withing def_item_ingredients.xml file, check if you have any mods editing this file. Besides that the icons themselves are stored in texture cache of the game, maybe try verifying the integrity of your game files.

I don't know if it's too serious, but I'll go with your solution.

nice mod!
