Please upscale all the trees in the game. Most look like cardboard cutout :(

Does the Redux bark look better in the new game update 4.03? I'm not saying Redux oaks has been changed by the authors since it came out in March, it probably hasn't of course. But maybe 4.03 happens to work better with Redux? At least with the bark graphics. Edit: Unless it's just me like something on my end.

It should look the same. However, with what they have changed and fixed in 4.03, it's possible some lighting changes could help make this mod (the oak trees) able to be presented better in-game. I have not tested yet. What have you noticed?

I notice more contrast in the bark, and the light gray bark color is not as light. The 4.03 notes say performance improvement in global raytracing but it's not necessarily for IQ, just performance.

Edit: It's ok after all, the bark has more detail and contrast in Redux depending on the area like the foothills a little north of Ancient Oak in Velen. In places where the Redux bark looks lighter and with less contrast is probably just because of the type of lighting in those areas I think. Sorry for making the fuss, I still haven't seen all areas with oaks since I first installed Redux.

    Hi
Does this need updating at all? Only asking as I'm unable to play my save but unsure which mod is causing the issue

This mod should still be working and does not affect your save.

Great quality, endorsed. Do you plan to redo BaW trees?

Thank you very much. No plans as of now. In my opinion they don't need retweaked in the same way the original UHD Oaks did.

I downloaded this, but when I went to unzip it, I got a Trojan detected alert from Windows.

i have this mod installed for a week before beating the game for the 2nd time NG+ and i never have that kind of problem i mean the windows did not detected anything at all but after 1 week i updated my windows anti virus, now after 2 weeks as a routine i did a virus scan window offline defender + full scan and the full scan detected it as a trojan so i removed it but it only removed the RAR file not the extracted file so i did another full scan and no more problem now, idk if it's falls positive like i said i have it beating the game with no problem up until now the extracted file is installed but im done playing the game and move on to another.

By the way I know you only remastered the trees texture but could you please also add some LOD on ancient oak from Velen? The oak turn invisible from certain distance:
Visible from this distance for example:

Invisible from a few step back:

WHAT overlay are you using to get all that info? I have tried a few and they are all fairly light in the loafers, as me gramps would say. Thanks mate.

Hello. Its MSI Afterburner and Rivatuner Statistic Server program I used for that overlay.

Looks good and now I have to re-explore lots of areas to see the upgrades. And it seems the new bark textures are still sharp when you move closer to the trees compared to that of vanilla 4.01. Meaning in vanilla there's a point where if you're close enough to the bark it starts to look blurry. At the same close distance in this mod it's still sharp looking. Then once you get closer than that it can look blurry but that's common in most games.

Are the billboard upgrades for average size oaks easy to spot? I'm looking for billboard oak trees at the front of groups of trees in the mid to far distances. That way the tree trunks will be easier to see because the front trees are less likely to have the trunks blocked by the leaves foliage. If that logic makes sense.

I appreciate your attention to detail, thank you for the kind review.  Our bark textures are indeed the highest resolution of any Witcher 3 tree mod out there (I basically maxed out what the game engine will allow, but no performance impact thanks to mipmaps).  As long as you have at least 4GB of VRAM you should be fine.  Sadly there's not much more we can squeeze out of REDEngine3 going forward, we'll just have to learn UE5 modding tools and get to work on the next installment ;)

Are the billboards easier to spot?  Well, that's subjective, but probably not...  The billboards should be sharper, though, as they are now 4096x4096 (up from 2048x2048).  They were also recolored to better match the new bark.

Thanks for the reply. I recall after seeing the side by sides in the images that vanilla bark has character I almost forgot about like little nicks, knots and things like that in the bark. But I still prefer the mod because of the sharp image and the lighter color for oaks.
