Reminder: This is not one of my own mods. I've made the existing Darker Nights and its related mods compatible with the Complete Edition and nothing more. It is being shared as-is. I will not be taking suggestions or doing further work on it, as I'm busy with my own mods already.
Per the original author's permissions, anyone who wants to is welcome to make improvements, add-ons, patches, etc.
The wonderful jojolapin102 was building on the original mod here for a while, but I suggested he make his own page since he's doing so much additional work, so you can now check out Darker Nights - Enhanced if you prefer his version to shaedhen's original.
I absolutely love it! It works perfectly with Friendly Meditation and a lot of different mods :) BTW. I modified the water to make it darker at night with Let the night water darken
What game settings are you using for your lights? Because right now my lights kind of have a dusty looking "cloud" around them, and I'm wondering if this mod is affecting my lights, I have the mod set to 70. So what GAME settings for lights are you using?
Is there any conflict between this mod and Let the night water darken ? Script Merger seems to tell me they share a same file (.env file), is it a problem ?
Nesyouz Yes there is, you need to replace files in the \modDarkerNights folder with the files from Let the night water darken. Set priority 1 for "modDarker_NightsWaterFix" and priority 2 for "modDarkerNights"
@darkezowsky how did you install "Realistic Rain"? The description of the MOD says that you need the MOD "Phoenix Lighting Mod" for it. But this MOD is not "Next Gen" compatible atm.
It also changes the same 2 files (blob0.bundle and metadata.store) that the MOD "Let the night water darken" already changes.
sorry for my english i don't speak the language. I have no way to get the mods Let Night Water Dark and Realistic Rain to work. Could someone put the steps one by one on how to put these two mods together, thanks
To install Let the night water darken with Darker Nights: OPTION I 1. Download Let the night water darken Main File and extract it. 2. Rename "modAtmosphericNights" to "modDarker_NightsWaterFix" and copy it to /mods folder. 3. Set priority 1 for "modDarker_NightsWaterFix" and priority 2 for "modDarkerNights".
OPTION II (Not recommended by teresatiger) 1. Download Let the night water darken Main File 2. Copy blob0.bundle and metadata.store from downloaded file. 3. Paste and replace those files in \modDarkerNights\content
If you do that you will be overwriting the bundled content of this mod, which you shouldn't be doing unless those files have Incorporated the content from here...which is not the case.
Thanks a lot to both of you ! Script Merger indicates now in the left 'conflicts panel' that 1 mod is not mergeable. I guess this is just a warning, not an error. Am I right ?
If you can't seem to modify the starting darkness hour and end darkness hour or have locked sliders at 0. Just make sure to select Custom config for every section and not enable default global settings. Click on Custom in the mod menu at the top of zone, this will enable you to tweak the darkness levels themselves.
Haha thank you. It's hard not to get sucked in and want to help, especially if someone is nice about it. Of course, we'll say nothing of the million other comments that were sent to the chopping block LOL.
Do you hate it when nights in videogames literally looks the same as high noon - but just with a moon in the sky?
Do you hate the feeling that nights are never eerie in videogames because they look the same as daytime but just with a slight nineties horror-B-movie blue tint in the scenery?
Do you hate it when you are not noticing any difference between day and night in a videogame, and when not being able to see the moon as proof for nighttime (for example during cloudy weather) you have to look at the ingame-clock to check out if it is day or night?
Do you want your nights eerie and creepy and fully of mysteries and dark corners, and the cat potion for night vision finally making sense and being actual useful?
Congratulations, this mod is for you! :) FINALLY immersive, realistic eerie nights full of darkness, mystery and monsters.
Swamps, with torch.
?
Cat potion.
Finally one of the BEST mods is back for the next-gen Witcher.
Curious, you mentioned its a transfer - how easy would it be to update certain older mods (i.e. what steps did you take, tutorial, etc if you're willing).
Normally this is meant to be installed on top of atmospheric nights... any special install instructions for making it work on darker nights? Maybe this mod author can just merge in these changes to his mod?
the conflict is only for the moon size. Choose what u like most For fixing the bright rain u can use this https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/3557?tab=files i recommend heavy rain
I just installed this today, and seen there was an update posted just now. What are the changes? Also thanks for this mod! It's incredible paired with Gervant First Person mod. Very atmospheric and scary at night.
You can't use the original Smoother Transitions patch because it's not compatible with the new scripts. Everything for next gen is included here. As for the timescale mod, I'm afraid I have no idea since I don't use that one.
Okay thanks. Just tested new version and it indeed transitions smoothly into night. I will test out the More Realistic Timescale mod sometime soon and will report back.

Thank you for bringing this to us in 2023. Blessings be upon you.

Updated the mod to incorporate mandelbrot's smoother transitions patch plus optional Friendly Meditation compatibility
Nexus has been glitchy lately and for some reason mod pages are taking a while to sync after edits.
Also wanted to ask...
The mod "More Realistic Timescale (NGV 4.00)" is able to be used with this mod? If yes, will it mess with the Smoother Transitions?
