Overview
This is a lightweight script mod that makes boats unsinkable. Boats do not take damage and will not sink. Also prevents Sirens from grabbing onto the boat. Now you can go collect all those water POIs in Skellige without getting stranded in the middle of nowhere when your boat sinks.

Available in 2 Options!
  • Version 1  --  simply install the mod and immediately enjoy the benefits of an unsinkable boat. This is for players that want the benefits of the mod and do not care about using a cheat to get it.
  • ***NEW - UPDATED*** Version 2  --  for players that want a more "immersive" experience. With this mod, boats are not immediately unsinkable and Sirens can still grab on. Geralt must learn to protect the boat! He does this by reading two books: "How to Avoid Colossal Vessels" and "Journey to the End of the World". This version of the mod activates a quest in which Geralt has to find and read the two books. After reading the book on vessels, boats will no longer take damage. After reading the book about the end of the world, Sirens will no longer be able to grab the boat.

Special notes about Version 2:
  • This is meant to be immersive. It gives some usefulness to the items that Geralt collects throughout his journey and adds an element of realism to making the boat unsinkable.
  • The quest will activate automatically the first time that Geralt takes the helm of a boat. The quest will instruct the player to find the books, and two primary locations will be marked on the map.
  • Locations to acquire the books: Both can be found in numerous places throughout the world and will likely be picked up and read before ever reaching Skellige if Geralt is adequately looting the places he visits. However, if by some chance Geralt has not read these books by the time he reaches Skellige, "How to Avoid Colossal Vessels" can be purchased from the bookkeeper Marcus T. K. Hodgson in Novigrad Square. "Journey to the End of the World" can be purchased from the Herbalist in Kaer Trolde Harbor. Both merchants carry these books as part of their normal inventories and are not altered as part of this mod.
  • Geralt does not need the books in inventory: He simply must have read them sometime during his adventures on the Continent.
  • Fully retroactive! If you install this mod after having already read the books, the quest will recognize this and update accordingly. However, for the best experience, it is recommended to install this mod at the start of the game before finding ether of the books.
  • If you simply must break immersion and acquire the books through console commands, the commands are:
          additem('Boat vol 1')
          additem('Hybrid Monsters vol 1')

There are two ways to install this mod:

1) Extract the contents of the file to your \Mods folder, typically found at:
[your drive directory]\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt GOTY\Mods

2)You may also use a mod manager. This has been fully tested and works with Vortex.

To uninstall, simply delete the mod from your \Mods folder or disable in your mod manager.

Compatibility
These script files may be used by other mods. It is always best to merge your scripts by running Script Merger. This will ensure all your script mods play well together and work as intended.
