Hello! Thanks for the layout! But for some reason I had a problem with the Yrden sign on the upper cross, for some reason it does not applied, all the others work correctly. Maybe you know what's the matter, redefined the steel and silver swords to the left stick and right stick respectively. But it doesn't work in the game either.
By editing the term called altquencast, I can adjust quen button in fast cast sign menu. However, there are no term for other signs such as altaxiicast and altignicast in the file. Therefore, it is not possible to adjust multiple sings at the same time, and as a result, fast cast sign is a distant goal in the current situation.
2. You don't have to memorize the changes, just read the in-game display on the right corner of the monitor and press the button.
This edits which buttons lead to which actions in-game. Therefore the in-game display will indicate the button as I edited this file changes the X button from [light attack] to [cast sign OR quick cast sign menu open]
You can apply it after backing up your input.setting file you'll understand right away
Thank you very much for the answer! You understood properly in fact: my concern was not to be able to use the new fast cast feature. And you're right, that's tricky to change because we're lacking the terms to assign a key to each fast cast sign...
Maybe we could do instead: ?Witcher Sense, Defense: X button Sign execution: Left shoulder I don't have access to the game right now to test how it would behave.
When you say A is "run" you really mean it's "sprint," right? I'm assuming so since that's what it used to be. I can't understand why they changed the controls for 4.0, let alone making "sprint" the left stick. What were they thinking?
It's ridiculous. I hate using either of the stick buttons so I reserve them for simpler things like HUD toggle or horse whistle. Assigning it to Sprint is just....why? Clearly a choice made by people who play the game with kbm since they don't seem to understand how annoying it is to try and click the stick while pushing it forward. I was testing out the new release and couldn't for the life of me figure out why the character wouldn't sprint. It never occurred to me they'd change the damn control lol.
I'm sorry if this sounds dumb, but you are aware that you don't have to hold the stick button down to sprint, right? Just click it once and you'll sprint until you let got of the stick. It's also one of the most popular control options for sprinting with a gamepad since for ever. IMO it's way better than using a face button since you can actually use the right stick to look around, but that's obviously subjective.
If you dislike the new sprinting controls you can simply disable them in the control settings. Hope this helps!
Yes, and every single time you want to slow for a second and then sprint again, you have to click that button in the most awkward position possible. I've so far only encountered a couple of games that use that button for sprinting and it's god awful.
use ctrl + F. and find the term "sprint" It probably sticks with terms like ""IK_Pad_A_CROSS" - ("pad_A_CROSS" may not be exact. It may be a circle or a box. Of course it may be correct) replace it with "pad_leftthumb"

Does it change the controls in the controller settings and in game advices as well? I'm afraid to forget them at the beginning...

aard : A button
quen : B button
igni : left shoulder
axii : right shoulder
yrden : right trigger
It's very uncomfortable to use.
But right now, I dont have proper way to improve this
It's not perfect, but it works.
