About this mod

A small tweak that makes Geralt track the camera view. Ala GTA V, RDR2 and pretty much every modern third-person game.

Original mod by SkacikPL, updated and re-uploaded by PanOptikum4, further tweaked and updated to work up until game version 1.32 by killergas47, script updated to current version by me.

Description
His view is not dependent on NPC's or object in sight, Geralt will shift his view dynamically toward whatever the center of your screen
is facing.
It's not intrusive or overdone, it feels natural and intended in a way -- which is precisely why I updated this fantastic mod.
Once I played with it there was no going back...
There are alternatives to this but I find them to be overly complicated to what I actually want: camera-based head movement
like in GTA V, RDR2, The Last of Us, and so on.
I think it goes even harder with the new close-up cam.

This mod was made by SkacikPL as one of the first mods that that gave us head movement similar to the old pre-release showcases where Geralt is wading through Crookback Bog, taking in the scenery as he walks. The standard mode of this mod was NPC- and object based head movement direction but it also provided an option to set movement based on camera direction which killergas47 set and tweaked a little to his liking. They also updated the scripts to work beyond game version 1.22. You can find a working version for legacy (1.30+) here, uploaded by killergas47 or in the file section.

Installation
  • File -> mod folder or activate with any mod manager
  • See if there are any conflicts with other mods in ScriptMerger! r4Player.ws is used by a lot of mods.
  • Start the game, go on a little hike and take it all in :)
Depending on your mods, this mod is placed best either at the very top or very bottom of your modlist.
You'll want to do that with a mod manager, don't rename the mod's folder

Compatibility
May not be compatible with other mods that edit head-tracking. Make sure to run ScriptMerger if you use mods that edit Geralt's
appearance or animations. If you encounter something breaking, please provide as much information as possible and
check if your Issue isn't known already.

1. Doesn't work? -> Merge!
2. Still doesn't work? -> put mod to the top or bottom of your load order. (but do not re-name the mod!)

Known Issues
- After some cutscene- and dialogue triggers the mod may stop working.
This is probably due to new lines and structures in the script of NextGen.
 Fixed by milivoj11.

- Geralt's eyes may move in unexpected ways, it's not too distracting though
(this is especially noticeable with mods that change Geralt's skin).

- Geralt's head moves a little more to the right than it does to the left, this only occurs when walking or standing.

- The Igni Firestream is a little bit more difficult to control - it's not game-breaking but you'll notice the difference.
