Original mod by SkacikPL, updated and re-uploaded by PanOptikum4, further tweaked and updated to work up until game version 1.32 by killergas47, script updated to Next Gen version by guandsleepingpills and finally bugfixed and improved by me (r0ckwolf).
I tried getting in contact with the orignial Authors to not have to create a standalone release page, but they seem to be all gone. So here is the latest bugfixed version of Face Them. I created this only for myself, because the bugs annoyed me too much and i can´t play wihtout this mod anymore. After i managed to get the fixes working, i thought it would be a shame if the fixed version isn´t out there.
I´m happy to take this page down and let guandsleepingpills incorporate these fixes in his release, if he comes back.
For the time being this page will provide the full mod, in it´s latest bugfixed version, for next gen.
Face Them - Next Gen Bugfixed Edition - What the Mod does:
This is an updated and bugfixed version of the Face Them mod, for Next Gen Update (v4.04+).
This simple and genius head-tracking mod makes Geralt turn his head to follow the direction of the camera and naturally glance at NPCs and interaction points at appropriate moments, creating a much more immersive experience, by making Geralt act and behave more lifelike.
This new version does not reinvent the mod, but rather rereleases it and fixes two major bugs.
Fixes & Improvements:
- Fixed Igni Firestream Bug – Previously, using Ignis alternative mode (Firestream) caused Geralt to lock on to the side of his target, causing him to miss the enemy most of the time, making Igni Firestream essentially unusable. This is fixed now and you can Firestream directly at enemies again. :)
- Fixed Head turning on Horseback Issues – The original mod sometimes caused Geralt’s head to turn randomly away from the direction the camera is pointing, while you are on Horseback or his head getting stuck at a weird angle. This is due to the vanilla game already having head tracking on horseback (only there, for god knows why!?!) and the mod was creating conflicts with the vanilla behavior. This was especially noticeable near NPCs, f.e. in villages. This update turns Face Thems head tracking off, while you are on Roach, so that the Vanilla head tracking can take over, ensuring a bug free experience.
Known Issues and Conflicts:
- Face Them is not compatible with the Immersive Cam mod. They use the same variables in the code, likely because immersive cam used to have an modified version of Face Thems head tracking. I recommend using Absolute Camera instead, otherwise you will have to manually edit the code, to make the mods compatible. Check the Comment Thread for more info.
- Some People with very high mod counts (100+) have reported that Face Them is not working correctly for them. Apparently reinstalling multiple mods that affected r4player.ws solved the issue (r4player.ws is the Script that is modified by Face Them). However the exact cause of this has not been determined yet. Check the comment thread for more info.
