I quite like the idea here actually. The vanilla armor stats make absolutely no sense.
I do have a question I wonder if you can help me with regarding the stamina regen buff/penalty associated with armor type: Does the game hardcoded that into armor type so every light/medium/heavy armor piece will have the exact same effect? I see that you have some codes on light and heavy armor pieces but they are not all consistent through out. Also, how does that work with enchantment like Levity? Even if there is code on that on the gear, it shouldn't apply if we use enchantment to change the type right? If so, how does the game deal with the buff/penalty on those gears?
I imagine that you did lots of testing while working on the mod, so I really hope you can share your insights regarding this.
Stamina regen does not depend on armor class. Though it gets slower the higher the defense is. It's changable for each armor. I made the mod so that even between 2 armor from the same class there's a difference so it's not 100% consistent. I'm not sure about enchantments, I only changed the armor values, so they shouldn't be affected.
I was so looking for such armor mod thank you ! finally I can wear other stuff than witcher gear because it was only armor that had monster damage reduction somehow like you would be a tank vs monsters but a piece of paper if you were non witcher heavy gear haha
there is just one vanilla problem left ,in death march when enemy deal 2k damage ,these small armor numbers actually don't mean anything and only useful stat would be resistance .
I was hoping if there was anyway to scale armor values by difficulty
edit: also small feedback that I think some early game items have actually too much resistance . I'm level 6 and I have 46% monster resistance from some relic low level gears,eg my boot giving me 13% monster damage resistance and I know that witcher gears in next gen are nerfed heavily ,grandmaster vanilla witcher gears max monster resistance I think it's 50% ,if that's the case me at lvl 6 having this much resistance is abit high
Thanks for the feedback! I totally agree, never understood why most armors don't protect against monsters who also deal physical damage. Which low level armors are giving you too much resistance? Can you name them?
hey no problem ,thankk you ! on top of my head I remember alder boots although I kinda misjudged I think because this was heavy armor and I was comparing it to light armor boots
This mod keeps Geralt from wearing clothes after he just woke up from his dream at the beginning of the story, because this Mod changed his clothes level to level 3 and geralt is still level 1, you can only wear that shirt after meeting Yennefer
I believe the cause of the problem is this mod somehow, without intending to blame you, I have noticed several times when I removed and installed this mod
in fact it is quite simple, don't install this mod just yet, wait until Geralt gets level 3 then install this Mod
Hmm interesting... Looks like by increasing the armor value somehow the level increases too. It's probably hardcoded tho so I can't do much about it. :(
Honestly .. the absolute best armor mod was made only once and it is now obsolete/dated/dead .. that was the one that scaled Trimerian, Nilfgaardian, and Undvik to MATCH THE PLAYER LEVEL .. later the mod author added Oathbreaker .. but the Trimerian and Nilfgaardian amors that actually scaled along with the character level was damned amazing .. https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1490
.. fix that one "game feature" .. you'll be everyone's hero .. scalable armors .. every time you want to craft a new set you actually can .. now THAT would be amazing .. no more random armor levels all over the damn map that you would never want to build or just were not worth building as they were 30 or more levels lower than you were and/or had random crap-tastic %-values .. idiotic and the single largest nerf of ALL of the armors in the game ..
Hi, just need to un-equip the armor and drop everything. Save and quit the game. Drop the mod in the folder then restart the game. Get your armor and you will notice that the stats have been modified.
Okay, it would be great if you could detail those modifications you made. So I can decide whether I install it or not. Thanks!!! Regards from Argentina.
