No longer works right in 4.0, lots of artifacting in terms of shadows being drawn, do not use till it is updated, besides it seems that CDPR somewhat fixed the long shadows on their own, so this mod is kinda obsolete anyway.
A quick test done with 'Long Shadows' up in the load order right behind 'Tweaks'. Graphic settings are defined as: Video/Graphics/Foliage Visibility Range / Ultra. Tested from 05:00 PM to 09:00PM north of Oxenfurt - no fires nearby. Not sure if this is indeed the intended effect, no loss in FPS. (I have an average Radeon RX 5500 XT. Witcher Version 1.32 via Steam)
Same. Mod seems to be working even on FoliageDistanceScale=1.8. I`ve tried the same spot at dawn in Novigrad, on 1.8 shadows are waay longer then vanilla. But on 2.6 i have about 10 fps drop on swamps in velen.
Yes, I have not noticed any difference. But I`m having issues with "flickering" and buggy shadows in various places. Don`t know if this due to distance scale, or it`s a bug, or a conflict
This is a wonderful little mod, but it unfortunately seems to be pretty buggy. I haven't done much testing, but the distant mountain textures in white orchard have a lot of flickering
It's only present when this mod is installed. Check again at dawn across the lake from the where you start the game. Distant shadows will appear over those hilly areas and they start bugging out when you move the camera. It's only at dawn
You're really going to go and act like just because you aren't experiencing a bug it means no one else is? I shouldn't have to defend my position. It's something that only happens with this mod installed, so it is a bug. Get lost
Boy relax Of course you have to defend your position when reporting a supposed bug A bug should occur to everyone especially with a mod such as this, which does not conflict with anything, and when it does not of course there would be doubts until the author himself confirms/denies it Maybe you don't know everything despite you believing so, or maybe you are right, I myself had not notice such a thing in my game And if your answer is get lost, you first.. Cheers!!!
There's a stark difference between asking for verification and outright telling someone that their problem doesn't exist. I didn't come here to get judged for trying to report a bug by some random with a rat picture who isn't even the mod author. Also, I don't agree that all mod bugs should be easily reproduceable because I've had many that seemingly occur at completely random times and there are lots of bugs that I've never experienced even though they were reported and verified. Shadows in this game are notoriously buggy and it should be expected that a mod like this will have some issues. I have tested and experienced this same flickering issue on a completely vanilla Witcher backup with vanilla user settings except for Tweaks. The results are exactly the same. Distant shadows flicker on and off when moving the camera around.
Does this only work with Tweaks? I use Magical Graphics Settings (https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/5430), "Foliage Distance Scale" -2.6 settings, but it doesn't work properly for me. https://ibb.co/5nXhgGq
@KnighTec You make exceptional mods, like BlitzFX is a real game-changer. Recently I have noticed the incorrect sun alignment in sun shadows of Toussaint. The deviation is by about 15 degrees downward. Since you have introduced a physical sun, will it be possible to allign the physical sun in Toussaint?

If you have a better, more modern Graphic Card, you may like to experiment with this value and increase it a little.
Zero loss of FPS. Game did run so far smooth as before.
P.S. It was bugged vanilla shadows
