Finally, textures are ok, but still, I have no idea how I made it work xD Sometimes I think I know how it works and then I try to improve it and it doesn't make any sense :D After that update I will release another version with:
- reworked scabbard,
- original look of the handle, as for now it looks like the Witcher 3 Maugrim
- maybe runes fix, I still don't know why they look as they look ^^
After that I will make the icon and change stats... I hope so.
But as for now, have fun :)
---UPDATE---
I managed to successfully import new model to the game and it looks how it should. You know why? Because I didn't change textures. When I make any little change to normal/specular map it goes crazy. I'll wait now for the tutorial that is being made by modders from Witcher Forums and then I'll see if there's a way to import textures in a good way. So as for now:
- the mesh has been made from beginning once again and I don't see any problems with it
-
-
- I'm going to remade the scabbard when the sword is ready
- in the future I plan to make a new icon and change the name from Maugrim to Aerondight. And maybe change the stats.
Sooooo, let's hope that this tutorial will solve my problems :)
---Version 1.01---
I've updated mesh and textures a little, however:
- mesh seems to be corrupted, there's a problem with triangulation that I don't know how to fix ATM
- the whole sword is way too polished, it doesn't have that mat effect like the rest swords in the game
- I'll improve handle and head texture in the future, this release isn't final, I just have to find a solution to the other problems (I need some help with it, I hope we can make this work together :D)
Due to problems with triangulation cubemap applied to the sword by some hardcoded parameters doesn't look all that good. If it wasn't that much polished it wouldn't be much of a problem, but I don't know why it looks different from other swords, I have set all the same settings like vanilla Aerondight and even made the same colors in textures... I'm uploading this version so you can see what I mean. And if someone have any idea or a tip for me, then please write to me :)
---Version 1.00---
Hello everyone, after many, many tries and fails I finally managed to change the model of the Aerondight (in game - Maugrim) to it's original look.
It's not perfect though, I have to fix some things such as:
- textures (I don't have experience with texturing so it will take me some time to make it look as good as it should),
- scabbard (for some reason, skin modifier corrupts mesh a little, so in-game it's a little deformed).
- scabbard texture doesn't import (I have no idea why, so the texture is old, it may not fit well)
It's my first successful importing so I decided to upload it. I'm going to upgrade it, so don't hate ;)
