So far on a 980 I see a decrease of 3-4 fps in certain areas and 2-3 fps increase in others. Mostly the performance should be the same.

just tried it out, I lose around 15fps in grassy areas, I use KNGR Grass (toussaint grass in velen), I'm currently in Velen, grass distance is 16777216, grass density is 600, does this mod increase density or distance of grass? the grass DOES look like there's more when I use this mod.

I use Enhanced LOD when not using this mod so it's not the LOD changes that are causing fps drops..( I turn it off when I install STLM)

Oh dear, that is a significant drop in FPS! This will sadly be a deal-breaker for me...but I really hope it isn't.

@Burgz: KNG Grass is quite performance heavy, it's probably that causing the drop,

No, it wasn't KNGR causing the drops as I have always used it, but actually I've fixed it..I think? the sky looked so flat and so did the background, but i meditated and then everything kinda came to life and fixed itself? and then my fps went from 45-60 stable and hasn't dropped so far...the sky DOES still look KINDA flat? used to look real now it's kinda like a flat image? (I'm using 3.1 btw)

EDIT: nevermind..it's back down again and this time meditating isn't fixing it :/ it's so random aswell, certain bland areas with 10-15fps drops and then huge populated grassy areas without a problem..I'm wondering if it's just something conflicting on my end.

To be honest 2.1 looks the best. 2.2 and 3.0 are slightly different vanilla lightning (yes "slighlty different" but not improved). And it feels bit weird cause all that hype about 3.0. I dont even see the difference between 2.2 and 3.0. Maybe auhor will fix issues, but i think its just the same 2.2 renamed to 3.0 cause its literally no difference at all. P.S. My monitor is ASUS ROG SWIFT 279 callibrated, settings are on ultra. P.P.S. i'll make screenshots if u ask me.

3.0 look literately nothing like like 2.2. It looks closer to 2.1, if anything.

This version is terrible. Previous lighting is much improved. In this mod, colors are heavily saturated by a light too strong. If witcher had to look like this before downgarde, fortunately, it is not so. Sorry.

@PPP1: If by "before downgarde" you mean 2013 build then yeah, this mod is not it.

No mod for the game will able to restore it.

Need to fix the darkness problem in cutscene as we are not able to use torch during it.
Also the darkness in night is fine as we can use torch to light us up, but during cloudy or rainy weather in daytime the torch is not effective as its light get covered/interfered by ambient light, still looks dark even with torch is what ruining my experience

Is there any way of having this mod run without interiors and exteriors during night-time being so incredibly dark?

exactly .. a room without light is dark ..

more realistic, one more reason to use the torch at night

To be fair, if we are supposed to be seeing through a witcher's eyes, we should have no trouble seeing in the dark -- if nights were bright, I believe it was because that's how Geralt would see at night, so that's why I (personally) had no problem with the bright nights of the game.

Well, yes, I've used the cat potion even in the vanilla game when it is too dark. But again, Geralt is supposed to see fairly well in dim light -- it's a matter of being faithful to the lore.

Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining, I was simply making the point that I don't understand why some people were bothered by the "bright" nights -- even in the vanilla game there are many situations when the lighting is very dark. I have no problem with the game getting darker, since by now it's gotten a bit too easy even on Deathmarch level of gameplay This would just be a new challenge for me.

(I have yet to check interiors of rooms though, both at night and during the day -- will do that in the next few minutes.)

I agree with you, I'm bothered much less by bright nights (even though I mod them to be darker) in this than in say Bethesda's titles, because of lore reasons. I haven't tried this mod yet but if it requires a torch at night for moving around outdoors it will be removed again.

Check out Ghost Mode if you haven't if you want to increase the challenge of the game.

Fair enough. Personally, I like to see an actual difference in lighting between day and night. With vanilla lighting, outdoors is as bright at night as it is by day, but with a different color tone. That's a little bit ridiculous, if you ask me.
At the end of the day, it is a matter of personal preference. I just like more realistic lighting and because this is a third person game, I don't feel it undermines the lore.

Why things appear darker is the removal of artificial lights that shouldn't even be there in there in the first place. Having cat eyes doesn't introduce fake light sources around you.

The problem is that the game isn't designed around completely dark nights so places where people clearly would use torches braziers etc remain unlit. So then ideally to remove all fake lights you'd also have to introduce a ton of new lights to make it believable as imo people stumbling around or working in the dark without bothering to bring any light is just as unrealistic.

Thanks for the replies and further discussion, guys. I've uninstalled this mod because interiors and exteriors during night-time were way too dark to see much at all. I've reverted to using the likes of E3FX Ultimate ReShade profile so I can once more see!

I just checked the interior of the Crones' "Chapel" in Crookback Bog, and it looks fine by me -- a bit dimmer than vanilla, but still very easy to see around, so it seems interiors look very good. It was during the daytime, but still, I felt like I was transitioning from an exterior to an interior on the way in. Lighting seems fine. No problems for me as of now.

However, at a sunrise, the colors did look a bit too saturated in yellow... very similar to some images others have posted

Don't try to merge Bundles. Can't be done. Simply set STLM mod priority to be the highest.
Also, version 3.1 should resolve that conflict.
