You need older python. 2.7, I believe.

      I have Python 2.7 installed.

Python changed its syntax somewhere between 2.7 and 3.x.
I made the "mistake" too, to install the most up-to-date version first because it wasn't mentioned what version to use (in another guide).

    Great work! + and kudos!
But i haven't found in this tutorial one pretty real question...
Can we, modders, assign more than one music theme to a specific place?
Or it depend of, how many files are "stored" in this place?
For example, 'Isle of Mists' has only one theme (as i believe), so only one file can be just replaced in this location??
    Thx!

So far afaik are we still waiting cdpr or an extremely passionate Modder to provide properly updated tools to mods sounds and music in next Gen.

I'm no modder, but really wish some modder will use Priscilla wolven storm as music on most sad scenes

I hate to be that person, but I've looked through the Excel doc several times trying to find the Quest Complete noise (the women singing "HEEYYY" for about 3 seconds) and the noise the Hornwall Horn makes so I can replace them, but I can't find them. What are those file names?

Nice. Can I unpack language files/voice lines and dlc music with this guide?
If yes, this is exactly what I'm looking for for my mod.

To unpack you can use QuickBMS.
This guide is just to give direction on how to create your custom music/sound mod

I see. May I ask if you have any idea how I can get the voice lines and DLC music files?

I tried QuickBMS but it can't unpack language files (I guess depc.w3speech or one of its neighboring files contains the vioce lines?) and after unpacking the DLCs from the DLC folder (bob and ep1) with QuickBMS I couldn't finde the music/sound files in those uncooked files.

There seems to be a utility for that as shown here ->https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAm2r4wCfSg
But don't know how they can repack it and so on.
I'm as clueless as you are.

Witcher 3 was really wasn't designed with mods in mind unlike the Elder Scrolls Series. Actually I'm amazed so many mods are possible in the first place, TBH.

nice thank you. Ill try it later but according to the video it is all I need. TBH I "just" need the voice lines of priscilla singing the wolven song in all languages.

You may have already worked this out.
Open w3speech with the tool at the following URL
      https://github.com/JTGizmo/Extracting-Voice-Over-Audio-from-Witcher-3
and the wav file starting with 0x00104bbf is the voice of Priscilla's song.
Be aware of storage space if you open all languages.

      Edit:
The first filename's is my mistake.Search for lyrics in the Excel file provided with the tool.

I hadn't much time over the last weeks so I haven't tried it yet. But thank you for the additional infos.
Now only thing still left are the locations of the expansions music files.

Great job, and thank you for this!  We always appreciate tutorials and documentation like this, since so little of it is actually documented.  Most just exists as tribal knowledge in the minds of modders.

Thank you for making this. I am not looking to replace music but fix bugs related to broken music triggers or incorrect music playing. The music list you provided is insanely helpful here however so I really appreciate this. Thanks!
