For those of you who have too many mods for even this limit, please respond to this post (if you wish) and I will send a beta version with the potential for an increased limit. Thanks for any testers that decide to give it a shot :)
IMPORTANT EDIT: Now that some testing's been done, version 1.4 (the one with support for a conf file) is up on Nexus! To use it, make a modlimitfix.conf text file with the only content being the mod limit (default is 500.) NOTE: This is not the mod limit itself but a different kind of limit, so move off of 500 accordingly. Once you make the conf file, make sure it's in the same folder as your witcher3.exe and modlimitfix(.exe) and run the executable. If you want to change the limit down the line, replace witcher3.exe with witcher3.exe.orig and rerun the script. Hope it helps some of you guys out!
Hm, it seems you're right. What's weird is that wasn't showing up a few days ago. The code is open-source, so if you want to take a look at it you can. There's really not much in there so there's really nothing that could cause malware but if you want to check you still can. Please let me know if anything changes.
Regarding the increased limit, read the sticky post again now that version 1.4 is out. Regarding the virus thing, it seems it was just Nexus being stupid because I reuploaded it and now there are no problems.
the maximum limit for next gen is 200 you cant go over that so basicaly we need an update for next gen i can confirm that i have 200 mods installed with next gen and i cant go over that number otherwise i will have a constent loading screeb
The Mod Limit Fix doesn't allow to have more than 200 mods. In truth, it allow to have more than 10 mods (Yes! TEN mods). Beside, 200 mods limit is what we called the "hard limit mod" and it's the same either in Classic 1.32 or Next Gen 4.04.
false its hasnet been removed the maximum you are allowed to have is 200 you cant go over that i have already 200 mods installed with next gen and i cant go over that if i put one more mod i have infinite loading screen

Hello, would you know how I could get it to work despite this message?
The message : The code execution cannot proceed because libwinthread-1.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem. I downloaded that libwinthread-1.dll thing, put it in bin/x64 , ran the process to patch the .exe but there's still an error that say :
The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b) Click OK to close the application.
I don't know what they are talking about and my researches did not help, thank you for your time
lmao. I reinstalled the game completely. but before that i copied my saves then i installed LITERALLY every mod I used before reinstallation later i even added few more. And u know what? game started to behave comletely smooth, no long loadings while cutscenes, no crashes. how does it work??? whats wrong with this game?
.. that is of little help when you want to download the file and Microsoft continually quarantines it for you ..
.. is there no coding solution that you guys can use? .. You guys have the coding talent and knowledge ..
.. it would be nice for a "real" solution rather than a continual issue and finger-pointing .. as it stands now, this is an ongoing pain in the arse for those of us who are not programmers and want to use your mod ..
If you aren't a Linux user I would suggest using the original patcher linked in the description. I'm sorry but I have talked to other Nexus veterans, Nexus Moderators, etc. and there has been no solution that works consistently. Over the next few days I'll try to see if I can fix the problem but I am uncertain as to the origin. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Apparently it's still flagged as troyan, I know it's open source but I don't know code, can anyone confirm it's not a malware and why is it flaggad as one then?
Well this is a barely-modified version of the original mod (actually the main thing it does is remove the Windows dependency and update the code to the latest standard so it isn't using experimental libraries), so there's really not much that *could* be going on. If you want to take a look here: https://git.adawesome.tech/abheekd/w3-mod-limit-fix/src/branch/master/main.cpp it's just a few lines finding the patch address in the executable and replacing it with a different address to patch it.
.. also .. fwiw .. vortex will now auto-patch by putting in the "patcher" and running it for you .. and vortex is GUARNATEED to screw up The Witcher 3 .. it's great for other games, just destroys TW3 every single time ..
.. thanks Microsoft for being a non-stop pain in the ass since the early 1980's when I built my first PC ..
