I messed around with the next gen update and thought it was looking pretty good, loved how they used Ultra+ like my Magical+ settings. Anyone on Steam is forced to update the game so this mod is pretty much useless at this point in time.
I compared some of the values between their Ultra+ and my Magical+ and some values are higher in Ultra+ and some are higher in Magical+. I wonder if they updated the engine when they wanted to support RT and allowed to get some higher values in for Ultra+.
Anyway, I wouldn't use this mod for game versions beyond 1.32. I'll add that info to the main page.
I tried this (on v 1.32 ofc, nice that GOG lets You revert) instead of the other mod I used before (Supreme to Extreme etc) . It looks like this one is doing way better in my system. I have the same visuals it seems, but when I crank things up my GPU doesn't take 300W power for the same fps. Instead I get like 220W . So it is more optimized and more newbie friendly ( You wont mess it up just by cranking up the settings). Thank You for Your hard work.
Now, I tested with 'Meadows' and I changed the last Grass setting (Magical+) to be 8000 like the "Meadows "author suggested ( otherwise there are too many patches of grass for my liking). There is a problem if BOTH 'Foliage Visibility Range= Magical+' and Grass is set to 8000. It seems that the game engine just overloads or something, the game starts glitching grass appearing disappearing etc. At least on my side, that is what is happening. I have no problem if I let the grass at 8000 and Foliage visibility to Magical ( the one before the max setting, idk I'm not at home now cant remember ). This is NOT this mod's fault, I am just saying that this is a workaround that works for me if grass to 8000. It may also be that I have to change also the grass ring zise or whatever is called for that '8000' density, but idk to what or why :).
Thanks for the compliment. I exhausted the engine to the max then I came back a tiny bit on values to make sure it's stable.
For reference, here is what CDPR is doing for their v4.01 and their Ultra+ settings for foliage. Magical+....Ultra+...hmm wonder where they got that from ;)
Maybe this will help you when messing around with values. Good luck!

Hey, thanks for this. I did test it out, but I think I'm just good with your Magical(notplus) setting for Foliage Visibility range and 8000 grass. That seems to work fine for me. Their ultra+++ setting and grass 8000 glitches also, but the 6000 grass setting works. Also, I think you broke your comment section lol. Your code on my PC starts almost outside the screen and ends in my other room, I guess... Haha. Keep up the good work.
hi i am on version 1.32, this mod is not working for me, although I do have the hd project installed as well. no magical settings are showing up for me
It's more like tweaks does things that don't do anything. Also, some of the max tweaks settings go beyond the bounds of the engine which can either do nothing or have negative effects. I ensured all the settings on my mod actually do something and don't create more bugs by going with the mindset that bigger number == better graphics.
I am currently having issues with my hairworks option constantly switching back to "off". I can tell its not enabled, and when ever I go back into the menu it has changed back to off. Pretty sure its caused by this and HDRP maybe conflicting?
There's two hairworks options, the AA and the Preset. Which are you speaking of?
Also, I never changed those values in the .ini so they are vanilla because there's nothing higher than 8x AA and High Preset that the RedEngine recognizes.
I haven't heard this issue from anyone before. Did you make any edits to the .ini file itself? I do know from testing a bunch of values that if you insert a value that is beyond the limits of the engine, when you try to set it on the in-game options menu, it will automatically slam the setting to OFF (or LOW).
I have the same qustion Edit?Even if I don't use this mod, I can't open hairworks. I think there is something wrong with HDRP or others Edit? After a few hours of testing, it was “Gervant First Person” Disables the hairworks OH NO
will this work alongside the hd rework, I do feel the hd rework looks slightly better but I think that is what has been causing pop ins plus the shadows arent as good so I tried installing tweaks to counter this but still no dice, where as before using only the magical mod i was getting excellent performance all be it without the folliage distance being up to high, that just caused annoying stutters.
Yes it works with the HD rework mod. The Magical texture setting is the same as Halk's Ultra HD setting under the hood. Texture pop in can't be fixed with an xml file, I read somewhere that was the developer's solution to eliminating loading screens for areas.
Hey there, first of all thankyou for the great mod and your very thorough descriptions. One thing i want to ask, what are the best places to 'benchmark' each settings? Thankyou

So Ultra+ and Magical+ can be considered as equal and this mod isn't needed anymore? You should considere to stick this info.

OH NO
Foliage magical / Grass magical+ = fine
Foliage magical+ / Grass magical = fine
Both on magical+ = no more fine :( makes grass disappear and appear back again when slowly turning the camera to certain angles.
I'm on 3440 x 1440 with a 3070 Ti btw.
Any help apprectiated
