Ropes seem to be the rarest material in the world of Witcher 3, aside from a few lucky encounters they can't be looted or can't be bought. This mod aims to fix that with minimal meddling with game files, thus only introduces a crafting diagram rather than increased drops etc. You have to manually add the diagram using console, so console enabler is required. To acquire the diagram open console and enter additem('Rope schematic') , for crafting you'll need two twines and a resin, the same items that you'd get when you dismantle a rope. Diagram will be visible at the top of crafting components tab.
I decided to go with this method because others would require me to edit additional files or add ropes directly via console, but that seemed a bit closer to cheating and would damage immersion. At least you still have to collect stuff, twines are not that common btw.
To install: Extract it to your mods folder, run the game, open the console and enter the command additem('Rope schematic') , then craft away!
Savegame compatible, highly unlikely to cause any conflicts. In the case of a conflict, prioritize this over other mods that modify gameplay/items/def_item_crafting_recipes.xml
note: To make space for rope recipe, another diagram (I guess it was dark steel plate) which was not used/commented out by the game is deleted. This should not affect anything as it was not craftable anyway.
If you are also bothered by overly zoomed-in minimap, try Minimap ZoomOut!
